My bologna has a middle name....

Saturday I went to buy my mother-in-law a birthday card. I ended up spending ages in the card section of the Hallmark store sifting through cards....

Our SR  has ALWAYS been the comedian in the family. We all think we're  pretty funny, but our SR has great delivery! He can "comedy speak" any language! Is he really speaking German, Hindi, Chinese and Arabic? NOPE! But you'd not know it if you too didn't speak it.  He can imitate any accent speaking English too. It's pretty…

Getting Close

I can't believe how time has flown. J is getting ready to leave for BC in just 22 DAYS!! I am going to have areally hard time when he is gone. He has become such a lifeline for me. He is always around (unless he is with the GF, whom I LOVE) and always helping out. He is starting to stress some because he has been in bad moods more lately, but I think it is a combination of worry and not wanting to leave but excited and not being able to wait to get started. He recently meet a young lady whom…

Confused.

Ok, so I am confused. Maybe I am in the minority but I can't understand feelings that some moms have about their kids joining the Navy. I just read a post about the 5 stages of Boot Camp and frankly the first 4 seem odd.

When our son told us he was joining the Navy, I was so proud. I still am. I guess my only concern now is where his A-school will be!

Go Navy!

Cold feet

My daughter is scheduled to leave for boot camp on Sept 18th she is getting scared and has come to me asking to stay home and go to college. Her last two meetings with the recruitors were tough for her since she needs to lose five pounds. They told her of she didn't lose it they will drop her. She sounds like that is what she wants. But also has a boyfriend she doesn't want to leave and I seriously think she is getting cold feet. I have sat with her and talked about her future. And the… Continue

Baby Scarlett

GraceRae gave birth to baby Scarlett today - 7lb, 11oz and 20 inches.  Both are doing well.

And GraceRae now has a Sailor!  She got the "I'm a Sailor" call after Scarlett was born so her husband got to talk to her and hear the baby cry!

Congratulations, Grace!

And wouldn't u know the little box arrives and we are all jumping and excited that its here. How sad that we are looking forward to seeing a plain brown box! My emotions are everywhere and i can't…

Small World Isn't It?

Hi all you proud moms.  My name is Diana and I, too am the proud mom of a son in the Navy.  He is assigned to the Hue City (CG66) Mayport.  I am not new to this life as I literally grew up on the water.  My father was a Merchant Marine Chief Engineer so I know what a "Water Widow" is.  The only benefit I had that you don't was I got to go on trips with dad whenever I wanted to because he was an officer.  I've been to most of the Great Lakes ports.  Of course there were the drawbacks that you…
