Reporting to A school after a break from Boot Camp

Hello Ladies! Does anybody know details about the Sailor flying into Pensacola, post boot camp, and after coming home for a few days during Christmas? I'm probably jumping the gun a bit, but I'd like to know about flights in and where does he stay if he flies in the day before he is to report? Will someone pick him up at the airport or should he catch a cab? Are there temporary barracks for him for the night before he is to report? I spoke with him on the phone today, but he didn't have those… Continue

It's a done deal

This seems like the longest week ever. Monday, Julia found out that she had to leave on Tuesday evening instead of Wednesday like we originally thought. She was a little upset but it all worked out good. We had a nice spaghetti dinner with salad and garlic bread Monday night. As putting on weight was the goal, I thought ham would be good on Tuesday night before she left. We had a nice dinner with Ham and potatoes and corn and crescent rolls. Her nerves didn't permit her to eat a piece of the… Continue

Worried

My son left for Japan in Aug of this year. He joined the Navy with a promise of a good job, but apparently they have him painting and scrubbing the ship. The main reason he joined the Navy was because he had no direction in his life. He was awarded a scholarship to go to college but dropped in the first semester. He just refused to go to college; his next move was to become a police officer but unfortunately that didn't work for him either, he resigned after a few months of working in a very… Continue

'Help on where to find best price airfare from Japan to east coast'

My son is stationed in Japan and we have not seen him in almost 3 years and finally when he gets leave to come home. It is airfare holiday highest rates of the year (how bad and sad it is for him financially). He will go on leave the end of December. He has to fly from Japan to the east coast. I thought there were military flights he could get to go on leave. He says from what he understands you have to be on stand bye and who knows how long you would have to wait and since he is limited to…

Question for moms!

I anticipated when I got my son's things, his cell phone that he kept with him, would be returned in his "box", but it was not. Did anyone else get their sons/daughters? I'm guessing it was just locked up there and will be given to them after graduation/before leave.

I haven't talked to him yet so I haven't had the opportunity to ask him that question.

Not Graduating on Time (S03/DIV017/PIR12-03

I was getting so excited to be able to finally see my sailor...only 2 more weeks before graduation. However, she just called. In the 2 minutes she was able to talk, she informed me that she has just been diagnosed with stress fractures of her legs. She said that she probably wouldn't be able to graduate for another 2-3 mos. Does anyone know how this will affect her daily routine, and will she have to start all over again? I'm trying to stay strong but it's very hard when I don't know whats… Continue

The Letter

Well I got my letter and my boy is on Ship 12 Division 042 Any others out there? with a grad date of 01/14. I am noticing that many are on ship 12, with different Divisions? If I am correct in my reading the divisions are the units, can someone confirm this?

New Navy Mom

Hi all. I am so excited to be a part of this group. Our son joined the Navy July 13 and is leaving for Boot January 4th. He has been training all summer and has lost 30 pounds. We couldn't be more proud of him, and know that he will have an amazing life. I'm just so sad for the day we say good bye. Any advise on how to prepare myself and still be strong for our daughter saying goodbye to her brother? I look forward to all your feed back and Thank you in advance!
