Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on May 16, 2012 at 6:55pm: I asked my Sailor about it as well. She said it's not a new rule. They just can wear a plain white tee or a plain navy tee. Those are the two they wear as undergarment under their uniforms. She's almost always in coveralls at work so not a big deal for her. And when shes not in uniform she never wears plain tees anyway lol.

Comment by ellen0502 on May 16, 2012 at 11:00am: I am not sure if it is a new rule diannep and I don't think it is every color. My son mentioned some colors, but told me just send them printed with something so there is no doubt (for me) as to which colors have to be printed.

He found it funny and his buddies there said go for it. He thought the officers would probably find it funny too but not let him get away with it. LOL
