Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Lisette-in-NJ on April 12, 2012 at 8:51am: Hmm... tough decision on a hotel. My daughter wanted the BF to come to graduation but now he's acting wierd about going. Won't give me a committment. I'm not sure what to do, if he goes I would book at the Residence Inn to get the suite but if not we only need a room big enough my husband and I and could save some $$. I just hope he isn't going to hurt her now!

Residence Inn Waukegan, Springhill Suites, Courtyard are all close to Sarge's MeetNGreet and only about 4-5 miles from base. All have PIR shuttle. We stayed at Residence and enjoyed it. They have studios and 2 bdrm 2 bth for those with large groups, all with full kitchens. Pet friendly too! Free hot buffet breakfast, served earlier on PIR morning. We used our AAA discount when staying there. But they have a PIR discount too (I didn't now that at the time).

Comment by diannep on April 11, 2012 at 10:45pm: Trix: They train inside. I believe there are some pictures on RTC FB showing them running, doing situps, pushups and you can see in those. They have a track they run around inside.

The one in our back door was $250.00 per person more. Now waiting on the phone call or letter. Missing her bunches today and hoping she is warm she hates to cold weather.
