~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thank you, diannep:) You have been a tremendous help:)
Hi Ladies:) What a whirlwind of activity:) Now, my son is in Pensacola and he really seems to like it. He joined a volunteer group, which sounds fun and good for him. He should phase up in a week or two, then he can wear civilian clothes:) I'm already looking for a good hotel or a place on homeaway to visit him:) Got a care package out yesterday to him of healthier small meals and protein bars and shakes. Starting a new stack of things to send:D
SamisMom Ship 09 Div 265 :o) - Now, classing up has nothing to do with the Phase 1, 2 & 3. You can be on hold for classes and make it all the way to Phase 3 before ever starting class. The Phases seem to go pretty fast. It's on here somewhere, but, something like a couple of weeks to each phase. Mine has started Indoc class already....but, has no idea when his AO class will begin.
diannep - You have been such a blessing. Thank you for all your support, encouragement, information....etc., etc. Wishing you much love and happiness.
Thank you Diannep for EVERYTHING!!! All these pasts weeks - wouldn't have been able to hold up without you. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
Blessings and hugs out your way! And to Lala and family TOO!!! :o)
Leaving this group now. Blessings to your sailors in their new Navy Adventures! Just to let you all know that Lala Ribbon Queen became a grandmother! Her sailors (daughter/hubby-both sailors) had a sweet baby girl. She is on Cloud 9 and was able to be there with them when the baby was born (thank goodness she decided to drive up early to help her daughter with the nursery....had only been there a couple of days when daughter went into early labor). All are well!
That's pretty conflicting info! Sarge said they can do it pretty quick - at least from phase 1 to phase 2. He said they just have to shadow some (not sure how many times). Maybe the 2-3 is longer. Hmmm. I'll see what she knows, if anything, when I talk with her this evening. I'll let you know! :o)
My son said that he's talked to many people about when he would class up. Half the people said about a week, and half the people said 3-4 months. He said it's very confusing - and no one really knows.
OH! That would be awesome!! Oh boy - hope my baby can too!! Fingers crossed!!
Hmmm. I wonder when Sami's class will begin. I'll have to check with her. One friend of mines daughter didn't start for 2 weeks after she graduated!
That's right. She told me that as well. And it seems they can phase up rather quickly too. I'm waiting for a list of things she would like me to send - totally forgot about that! LOL Thanks for reminding me!!
