~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

diannep so, the ship name (USS John F. Kennedy) does not have to be on it? The parking pass says: Division Number (which is understandable). But is just says: Ship: (it doesn't say 'ship name' or 'ship number'). So, I am assuming that the ship number is sufficient. Or maybe both would be good. Maybe it sounds like I'm being overly picky. But, I just don't want to run into any problems.
My SR is in the div 936. We got lucky cause they performed at the last graduation. If you want to see what my handsome baby go to the navy live PIR feed. he is the trumpet player that they zoom in on for like 3 minutes. I was so tickled. I just kept rewinding and rewinding it. He looks like a little boy playing in his daddy closes. Then when he called he told me that when they got of deck and standing on the side he passed out. Which is way to funny cause he has been performing for the last 5 years and he was section leader and asst band leader and he would harass his group and anyone if the passed out from locking there knees. He knew I would tell his band director cause they are great friends. He want him to know that he was a good little trumpet player cause he fell out on his back and not forward onto his instrument. LOL. But if you go to the live feed to about 1:12;06 that my baby in the glass and the trumpet. Cant wait to wrap my arms around that child. 12 DAY.
Ship number and Division number. Yes, each person must provide ID to get on base.
I would fill out all info requested on the pass completely.
Yes, if all have a govt-issued photo ID, that will do. For students, they will accept a school-issued photo ID....or birth certificate.....or social security card.
How do we fill out the Parking Pass? Do we put the Ship number? ie: 09; or do we put the ship name? ie: USS John F Kennedy; or do we put both?
Then when you present the pass, do they want identification frim each person in the car and check it against a sign in sheet?
I also see on the pass that they want the driver's License, vehicle registration, and insurance card.
Is just a picture ID all that's required for the passengers?
Thanks Diannep, it is good to be home and in my own bed. My kitty was very happy to see us lol
Happy sunday morning everyone :)
Welcome Home, Lala!
Good Morning All !
navyboyzrus, that is so funny and so very true lol. You are almost there YAY, wish I could go to the meet and greet to meet all of you :)
We made it home in time to watch the fireworks from our front porch because they were rained out on Thursday. Living in town has its perks :) It will be so good to sleep in my own bed tonight.
Congrats to all those who received calls, I know hearing their voice warms your heart :)
navyboyzrus03,
That is funny, what ship and div is he in? It is great that we can all relate here. Just a bunch of crazy Navy mom's looking for laughs, friendships and encouragement when we need it. Thanks for the laugh today. :)
