N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ajsmom,

Here's a scripture that would be good for your SR for his PFA:

      "He gives strength to the weary

       and increases the power of the weak.

       Even youths grow tired and weary,

       and the young stumble and fall;

       But those who hope in the Lord

       will renew their strength.

       They will soar on wings like eagles;

       they will run and not grow weary,

       they will walk and not be faint."

                                    Isaiah 40:29-31

Hi AuntieMel - no, :o(  wasn't us.  Were you in Sacramento MEPS as well??  It was only myself and my 2 girls, one 22 and one 19 (that's our SR).  We were sitting and talking and taking pictures.  I was thinking Radar Granny was a family that was across from us and it sounds as if you had the same family and girlfriend members!  LOL  We may end up recognizing each other from that day anyway!

Well, we will definitely be meeting face-to-face in only 17 days!!! :o)

Perfect! I will PM you with mine.

Hey all!  This is getting soooooooooooooo excited!!!  :o)

We are going to drive up to Reno instead of flying out of Sacramento - it was a few hundred dollars cheaper!!  LOL I'll take what I can to drop the dollars.  We fly out of Reno at 5:40pm on Wednesday and arrive at Midway at 1:10am! yuk! LOL  BUT even more yuckie is we can't get the rental car until 6am!  Soooo for 5 hours I suppose Sami's sister, Karylie, and I will find ourselves a chair that's out of the mainstream and take a snooze!  We'll probably get to the Navy Lodge around 8am Thursday morning...luckily Sarge's M&G isn't until 5:30.  I'm going to have a badge with my screen name here on it and my real name, Leslie, below it. Then I'm going to have my other daughter do the same: her badge will also say SamisMom but will have her name, Karylie, underneath. AND we'll wear them at the Navy Lodge too!!!   I'M SO EXCITED!!  It's THIS month guys!  I can't wait to hold my baby girl - at least for a minute.  :o)

Maybe we can share phone numbers and maybe text around 4pm and whoever is there, we can meet in the lobby of the hotel....?

RadarGranny - I think you guys were the family sitting directly across from myself and my girls at MEPS on that Tuesday. Were you sitting across from the mom and dad, and you had your SRs girlfriend sitting next to you?  Maybe it was you. If it was, the mom and I connected just barely before you guys all went in to see your SR swear in first - we were the next group because there were so many family members.  :o)  It doesn't matter because I'll meet you soon enough, I was just curious.

CAN'T WAIT LADIES!!!  :o)

We are leaving wed. morning. Should be there mid afternoon. Only because I'm so anxious to be closer to my SR! I will be there to greet you as you come in!

You are very welcome SamisMom, three years later and my daughter still talks about that apple pie lol.

We had our Meet and Greet here in FL yesterday. There weren't a lot who were able to make it but we did have a really good time :) I have a feeling the next one will be in VA Beach since that is where I will be spending as much time as possible one my new and first grandbaby is born :)

I am not happy with all this rain on my Florida vacation lol. We had a blowout of one of the tires on the rental truck today and had to change that in the rain, What a pain that was. Couldn't wait on roadside assistance because hubby had to be at the boat for his deep sea fishing trip. I am planning to go to the Florida Aquarium tomorrow in Tampa so hopefully it will be a better day than today. Can someone please turn the faucet off at least until the weekend? lol and thanks
