Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

By the way, I have the "Lancaster County" Basket made and ready to bring to Sarge's Meet and Greet. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. We are also staying at the Navy Lodge so will get to see you then too. Can you believe how quickly it is coming upon us?! WooHoo!

Yes, I also join everyone in saying "Thank You" to everyone's input so that we, who are new to all this, can at least understand, relate, enjoy what our SR's are experiencing. Since waiting for letters and calls are a bit "hair-raising," it's so nice to know what is happening. Thanks to everyone for encouraging words, scripture and prayers. While our SR's are away, we are still going through things in life that test us. God bless you all!

Craig are you the one that does the NavyDep site Navy boot camp day by day site! If so I want to thank you so much for all the info! You were my life saver at the very beginning when my son left San Antonio MEPS going to airport and getting there, etc!!!!!!! Matter of fact I found you before Navy For Moms! Just wanted to say Thank You! I look at it daily to see what my son maybe doing to know his journey in boot camp! Navy for Moms has been just as great to have! To hear from Moms going through the same thing at the same time is very supportive!

Thanks Craig!! Glad I was originally correct about here to get the awesome coins! Lol but I hadn't realized there was a nice velvet case for them until a mom mentioned it here so I just bought that too. :o)
