~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Well, they SURE have been BUSY! Wow! He wrote alot. It upset me though, that he hadn't received my letters I sent last week Wednesday or Thursday yet (as of this past Sunday). He said he didn't know if he just wasn't receiving them, or if I haven't written. I am definitely going to have to go back to writing every day. It made me want to cry. Even if it's just a little now - I urgently request to all of you that you send something each day. If my son is saying this - and he's never been the kind that something like this would matter - I'm sure all your SRs must be feeling the say way!
Anyway, I found out that this past Monday (June 24th) was Day 4-3. This Friday will be 5-2. They have been getting up at 4am. But this week they will start getting up at 3:30am. They are going to be getting more shots and another peanut butter shot, too. Some people have already gotten asmod (falling behind, saying wrong thing to supervisor, etc.). Someone got sent home because they had high cholesterol. They have had many people join their division because they got asmod from a week ahead of them.
They've had PFA, Personal Inspection, Weapons Training Inspection tests on Thursday. Friday had several classes and a Dynamic Material Inpection and Zone Inspection. They've also also ahd a division test called Marlinespike). This past Monday they had Live Fire and test two. There will also be Drill Inspections this week. They are in the MCA Phase right now (don't know what that means). They will be doing a lot of marching this week. His knee's have been hurting him, but, everyone's knees are hurting them. So, it's normal.
After this week will be the gas chamber, firefighting and Battlestations.
He said he doesn't know when they'll get to call again. But, everything sounded good, and he's done well on his tests (YAY)!
The mailman can't get here fast enough today!!!! OMGOSH! He just pulled up! Wait, I'm going to the mailbox....I'll let you know if I got a letter.....(th-thump, th-thump, th-thump - my heart!) ...........YES! YES! YES! I GOT A LETTER! I'm in HEAVEN! I'm going to go read it. I'll let you know if there's anything that would be good to share. :)
Are there any groups or anyone who is coming from the Tidewater area? Like Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Hampton or anything like that? I live in Virginia Beach. I was just wondering if there was anyone else?
