For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Tomsmom - Sounds like our sons are on the same schedule. Swim test last week/wisdom teeth pulled on the 5th. I thought they always pulled the wisdom teeth during P-days.

Smoke2010 (Ship 13 Div 269) - Mine got his wisdom teeth out this passed Wednesday, too. He didn't think he was going to have to. He said he got 3 days to rest in bed, though, because of it. (I'm sure that was an exageration!) He said they gave him 12 shots. Had him bite down on a brick and had them out in 5 minutes. Heard a crunch but didn't hurt. He still has stitches. He said he was pretty much eating within the day.

I received a call today also. I am so relieved he sounds good. He had his wisdom teeth pulled on the 5th but doing well. Ship 9 Div 266. He finished his swim stuff last week and they are doing a count down as a group it sounds like. Feel so much better knowing he is doing well. He says space is tight and asked us to consolidate letters from the family to save room. Glad to hear that he is getting enough mail.

Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons - I do know my son's bunkmate's last name. But, it doesn't do me any good unless I were to pm all my friends in his ship & div. And ask, are you ***** ? I don't feel comfortable doing that. But, if somehow I come across it privately, I will let the mom know.

Received a CALL at 5:02pm! YAY! Got to talk a good 20 minutes. He also called a friend. He's doing well and his division (266) is doing well. If they continue to do good thru the week, they will get to make calls again next Saturday. He ended up having to get his wisdom teeth pulled this passed Wednesday. Had 3 days off to recuperate. Still has stitches. They have a big pt type test coming up this week. And had a running test this passed week. Had to run a timed 1-1/2 miles. I feel SO much BETTER now!

Received a call today. He sounded good. Passed his swim test. Passed all his PFT but push ups missed it by one. Had his wisdom teeth removed on Wednesday . Said I should receive one more phone call home before he goes to battle station . They have received letters and all were very happy about that . Sorry to hear that some have not received calls.

Ship 13 so is this now a total of 3 calls since the 1st I'm here? I didn't get a call today for ship 12! Hopefully they are doing well!
