Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Deanna - Mine likes the food alot, too. And, what surprised me coming from my meat & potato man - was that the food items he commented on were fresh yogurt and blueberries!

I got mine today but it was very short because he only had a few minutes to write- he promises that the next will be longer! He said the food was amazing!

Lala: I think you will need to set up a nice hammock for yourself outside, with a porta-potty! So you can breathe! WOW! I hope you all like each other because you will be VERY CLOSE! :-) But I know you will enjoy this weekend immensely and what great fun for your daughter!

Good Morning Ladies! I started a discussion titles PIR Gift Basket Auction. I am just posting here to make sure everyone is seeing it. I thought it would be fun for several of us, whoever can and would like to, to make up a gift basket from our individual states, city, or locale. These would be auctioned at Sarge's Meet and Greet the night before our SRs PIR. We would give that to Sarge to offset his cost. So far, we have two baskets. We will keep the cost of making them to what is comfortable for everyone that can/will make one. Thanks!

samismom & LaLa thanks for the words of encouragement. Hurry Up and Wait on that form letter -- Right! This pic is from SR hs grad day "12. Any advice I can give on what to do in Chi ; no problem. Thinking @ it myself, I don't know much about GLs area, never ventured up there except if someone lost their military ID (ex is Army) :(

Today is graduation day for our youngest so we will have a house full of people this weekend. I love having family here especially my sailor but after all this I will be ready for some quiet time with just me and hubby lol. We have an 1100 sq ft house, with our 5 kids, two of their dogs, 2 grandparents, my two brothers, their wives and kids and grandkids, my hubby's ex wife (yeah we invited her) her boyfriend and her brother, a couple boyfriends and at least 3 BFF"s added to that and now a tropical storm so lots of rain uggggg. Calgon take me away lol

Hmmmm.....good thing they house the males and female separately, right? I would think that would be quite a distraction if they were sleeping in the same barracks! :-)
