~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

mcmom: She wouldn't have known her PIR date before she left. They don't know that until they have been put into a division. I think you are in the right place here!
When did your recruits arrive at Great Lakes? I am confused, because my daughter had said before she left that she was going to have PIR on July 12, but her recruiter said she was in Div 936, which is for this date. I haven't actually heard from her nor received her box ... nothing since the call the day she got there.
Hi Friends!

and your hope will not be cut off'."

You are welcome, SamisMom!
Good Morning All !
Yes! Great idea about putting our screen names along with our actual names on the name badges at the Meet & Greet - and about meeting each other via messages here, privately. Thanks all you smart people out there! :o)
And that's so hilarious about our Sailors to Be not knowing each other by their first names - my SR said that one day after DEP that she has no idea what anybody's first name is!
Diannep - awesome information about Southwest and cars and airport. Thank you so much!
I just have to say to you all that since I started using this amazing website I haven't been so heart sick about my baby. Thank you all for sharing everything. I'm so excited to be able to meet you all in a couple months. :o)
Ladies,
You can put your real name and your screen name on your tag. Maybe even copy a little pic of your "icon" by your name to tape on.
Also, if you're really friendly with each other, you can friend each other and share first names and other family info with each other. Just click on the screen name of the person you want to friend on any of their postings and include an introductory note. Then when you are friends, you can write using "send message". That's where you can share your SRs' first and last names with each other only. Keep in mind that the SRs only know each other by last names if you're trying to find out if they know each other.
