Hi Skysmom: My prayers are with you. My Gram was a nurse (graduated in the 1920's) and she said medical science is ALWAYS progressing. Miracles every day, and most of the time we don't know it. My prayers are with you - and yoru special miracle!
On another note, I worry a lot about what to tell our sailor. My husband had heart surgery this summer (three stints put in); and he is the primary care giver for both his parents (87). It is a hard decision. The advise from these ladies is invaluable! They are amazing. Relax and know we are all with you in our prayers.

Hey girls - take pictures! For those of us out of staters we can share the fun in another way okay?

You are all in my prayers. I truly appreciate your posts about what is going on with the weather. It makes those of us who aren't able to have contact know the conditions that their families are dealing with. Thanks, keep the pictures coming!

I think Whidbey should be alright, Marie. The flooding is happening mostly near the larger rivers that drain from the mountains, due to the combination of fairly heavy (but not torrential) rains in combination with the warmer weather, and the quick melting of all the snow that fell recently, especially in the mountains. Since Whidbey is an island with no larger rivers draining from mountains, they should be just fine, as we are here on the Kitsap Peninsula for the same reasons.

Angie... Happy to hear that you are beginning to thaw... or is that freeze over??? Sounds like they are about ready to reopen the passes this morning and maybe even I-5 later today. Here's hoping the flooding did not devastate as many as it has in years past!

Actually Angie, I-5 was closed through Chehalis for about a week in Dec '07. Colleen, the latest word is that they expect I-5 to be closed for up to four days, so the chances are decent that it'll be open by Sunday (presumably your return day). The weekend is not expected to be as dry as originally thought now, but still just scattered showers. Here's a link to the DOT website to make it easier for you to check the status come the weekend. Enjoy PIR - it's a blast, and the folks out in town around Great Lakes are fantastic, the way they treat graduating sailors. Good on ya, for having the smarts to get to PDX before the door shut.

Hi Everybody: The surgery for Brianna's pallet will be next Tuesday. They may also put tubes in her ears. All looks great. She will be in arm restraints and a lot of pain for the first two weeks. We had hoped that Adam would be there the day of - and a little after. Here is our dil's comment's about his availability. "We found out from Adam's work that they have decided to do the calibrations next week. Which could mean we will not see him for the next ten days or so. ..", So, I am asking for prayers for their family. If you are a Washington Mom and in Seattle - maybe you would be willing to do a "Mom check" via phone for me? I prayed about asking, and if you don't ask you won't know! Thank you, my angel blessings, Susan

How do we post our get together on the event calendar on the right side of this page??? I can imagine there might be moms that have not found this group yet.
