For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by diannep on March 23, 2012 at 8:58pm: Annette: Never apologize for sharing emotions on here...We all have(had for us N4Moms veterans) them. I am a widow and have 2 sons....2 weeks before youngest went into Navy back in 2009, oldest son moved into his own place. Sigh....wow....experiencing the "empty nest" during bootcamp is doubly hard! But you get through it. Took a awhile to adjust to no "boys" here (both in their mid-20s at the time). Found it most difficult at the grocery...buying just for me and the dogs...didn't feel right...didn't like it....cried for a long time...but finally got used to it....especially after PIR when contact was back with sailor.

So....as I was sailing along (no pun intended! :-) ) in the house with just my precious dogs...enjoying it now....just a little over 1.5 yrs later...older son's rental condo was a short-sale--4 days to get out (last Aug)...so guess whose back???? HA! I have enjoyed having him back...he is easy to be around and never asks or expects anything here... Athough his "things" are here...his work hours are very long...so I just catch glimpses of him every now and then and feel blessed to have an occasional dinner with him...but at least I can now buy for someone else at the grocery! :-)

I think him being away is making me work harder at work, even though there are days I just want to stay home. But thank you ladies for the nice kind words. I have been stalking my phone all day.

Just sorry you missed it! It does happen. I missed my first one! He got to call back...so just keep that cell phone close to you! Your new BFF! He will love the mail!

Was kind of upset I missed a call from him last night.....feel like a real heel. I am hoping that he calls again tonight. I sent him another letter in the mail today, because I felt like a real jerk.
