Still hoping to start the BattleStations schedule for this group so if you have any dates that your SR has told you, please friend request/private message them to me.  I will get a schedule and message it out.  We cannot post dates on this site.  Have to private message.  Please be sure to read the BattleStations discussion above so you know what your SRs will be going through.

moda: Has she asked that you send it?  If so, it is ok to send it now.  We always suggest you all wait for your SR to ask for certain items before mailing them.  She is allowed to have the makeup (will put away until PIR) but she needs to know when you send it.

Loving the clock on this site.  I can't believe I only have 16 more days.  Where did the time go?

How soon is too soon to send makeup for PIR? Should we wait til closer or is it okay to plan ahead?

Comment by diannep on April 24, 2012 at 8:50pm

...should add that they also can fly out any time between 6:30 a.m.and evening!

Comment by diannep on April 24, 2012 at 8:43pm

Smile:  They can fly at any time of the day.  Some may leave on 6:30 a.m. flights; others may not leave until late afternoon or early evening.  Your sailors will know which airport they leave from, but unfortunately not before you will have booked flights.  As Betsy said, we always suggest that you book flights out on Sunday or Monday if possible...just in case you can get more time with your sailor.  You can always do some sightseeing if your sailor leaves early!

rluv:  You shouldn't have a problem with your group getting gate passes.  It is up to the airlines personnel, but they love their sailors and are usually very accommodating.

Question about airport. .how many people will they let through tsa we will have her brother and sister grandma and step father with us. Will they let us al go
Comment by Betsy, mom of Stennis sailor on April 24, 2012 at 7:59pm

In addition to what Lady Hamilton stated about your sailors' flights, one of the things that we also suggest is to book your flights to leave Chicago on Sunday.  There is also a slight possibility that your sailor could be put on a later flight out and you might have a chance to wait with them at the airport.   You wouldn't want to leave Chicago early and then find out that your sailor may have been there a little bit longer, after you were already gone.   Also, if you sailor does happen to leave on Saturday, you could go to the airport and still be fine with your own flight out, since it would be the next day.  There would be no rushing around trying to get to your own flight.

Yeah rluv, hers were too. And she wanted her hair gel. I think she missed those things more than her phone lol.

Emma, mine was an AN and now she is an AOAN :-)

Dianne, So do all the recruits fly out of the same airport? O'hare or Midway?  What is the range of wait time for flights to leave if they leave at 2am for the airport?  Guess we're not going to sleep on Friday:)
