Eek! Sometimes I wonder if people forget it's the *World Wide* web. I'll admit, I've been guilty of giving out info, like my email, in public forgetting it was a public post and not a private message. Took me a while to learn that my cell phone # was posted on my FB profile (check your own and change your privacy settings or just simply DELETE it!). Ever since then, I've deleted my email and phone #s from all public sites I may have had some sort of public profile on, or just deleted the account all together cause it's ancient & I never use it, haha (myspace anyone? lol)

Ladies, I totally agree with diannep and Rainy.  Just a week ago, one of my Navy mom friend's told me that her son's ship's captain sent out an email to all of  the sailors stressing the OPSEC rules.  He stated that they needed remind all of the young wives and family to be very careful.  Apparently NCIS had been reading and monitoring posts on their ship's Facebook page and found that some of the family members had divulged information on there.  It's always a great idea to get used to keeping the lips tight now.

Thanks, BCmom!  I actually posted yesterday from my hotel.  But arrived back home late yesterday.  Good to be back home!

I totally agree with what Rainy said below!  Absolutely...discretion is key.  Always be careful what you post....anywhere on the internet.

Thank you for clearing that up.  I understand better now and will keep all these words of wisdom in mind as I share on this site.

Even a specific practical joke on your SR, on his/her division, on the RDC could be called into question if the wrong person reads it or hears about it.  It may seem like a funny lil thing to us, but it may be a breach of "their" privacy somehow. So, I would say, keep it private in your inbox if you want to share.  Not on your page/blog or in any of the forums or even facebook.  A woman found out on facebook last week that her husband was killed in the middle east before she could be told by the military. Somebody told somebody who told somebody...So ladies, discretion is key key..while they are SR's and even as they move on to school and to duty. My curry is done, I gotta sign off here.  Good nite all.
