Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Donna on April 21, 2012 at 9:50pm: Yeah for phone calls! Good news..turning 20 means more time allowed for running so he has passed all tests! Do not leave your phones with u when you change out laundry...I missed 3 calls..luckily he called his dad and we got to all 3 speaker talk! What a great day..senior prom for youngest and call from oldest!

Said their division was #1:) And the reason they don't contact us often is because their RDC is so strict, hence the reason their division is #1. Now I heard other SR's in the background arguing about this fact, but it's whatever! He said he's been sick the entire time, off and on fever, sore throat, headaches etc. but he's pushing through. Found out his Battlestations day. Said he opened a savings and checking account filled out his Life Insurance papers. Sooooo happy right now!

Just wanted to say thank you to all the moms /wives/girlfriends for everything. it has eased my mind knowing whta to do ,expect and take to pir!!!!

Comment by Pookie68 on April 21, 2012 at 4:42pm: I got a phone call!! It was so short, but so wonderful to hear my SRs voice!! He says they will start getting a call each week as long as they don't "mess up". I have to write a list of the questions I have for him. I was so excited that I forgot to ask him about battle stations, or liberty after PIR or anything else! Haha he did say that he will be very easy to see and hear at PIR...he started to explain what week they're in (and how it works, i just dont get it) but didn't have time...all I know is, 2 more Fridays to get through :)

Comment by VickiW Ship12 Div 147 PIR5/11 on April 20, 2012 at 8:42am: Got a letter from my SR yesterday and she said things are getting better as they get closer to graduation. Said this week is called Hell week, becausae they have so many inspections, a weapons turover test, PFA test and Marlinspike. She said she has never gotten IT alone until just the other day when they did a practice inspection and she answered her question wrong or the RDC said she answered it wrong, but the group said she was right. She said something about seeing her hard card (not sure what that is) and it said soemthing about sailor is motivated and wants to excel and is quiet (shocking to me) and she has been chosen to represent her division in something, because she said she did not see what it was. Does anyone know what she may be representing her division in? I know she said she does great on all of her inspections and said her Rack was perfect the other day. She ended it by saying how much she misses and loves everyone. Can't wait to see her in 3 weeks... YES only 3 weeks to go!!!!

I will be collecting those when I get back next week. Please don't post on this site...not allowed. You can private message them or send out a Message to Group.
