WhitsMom: I don't have a SR in bootcamp. Mine PIRed back in early 2010. Just a N4Moms veteran on here to help out! :-)
@Whitsmom I am so glad you got a call. I never received one from my daughter who is in the same division :( I could not sleep last night thinking if I feel asleep sh would call and I would miss it. Wonder why she did not get to call.
Ladies ~ Welcome to Pensacola, when you get here!! Pcola is HOME for my family & SR!! Our daughter will be in Damek, VA for A school & possibly C school ~ looking forward to visiting her wherever she goes!! Get ready though ~ we have the most beautiful white beaches ever and this little Naval town likes to party!!
Karri, that's so exciting though to experience a whole different city and life with your husband, what more can you ask for right ? :) I am definitely being optimistic towards being a Navy girlfriend in that it's a really good benefit for traveling. Oh, we talked about moving in but not until he is done with his active duty. Unfortunately that is a long way from now, but on the brighter side, I have a lot of time and space to focus on my own career. Despite that I would choose to rather live with him any day if our life permits it. :) I am majoring in business and moving around is definitely not securing for my career path. For the next few years, all I can do is wait for him to come home. I'm so excited for your journey as a Navy wife, it's something of-course we did not plan as little kids ^_^ But it will very memorable!
Karri- I'm so glad to hear that you have the opportunity to move and be with him. That is very supportive of you and it must be really hard. I admire that! I hate the thought about moving around and having to adjust all over again but I guess we all have to adjust to that idea if we decided to spend our life with a Sailor :) I wish you the best of luck in Chicago! I heard it's a beautiful city :) My boyfriend will be attending school in Pensacola, Florida
@BCmomMay - I know how you feel about receiving everything later than everyone else. For a moment, I hated the fact that I lived all the way in Texas but I can't change that right now. At times, it can be quite discouraging but we can do it! :) Thank you for your advices. I most definitely do not see it as a lecture. I hear all that you say as motivation for me to continue to support him and myself :) Thank you so much.
@diannep...Did you get a call today?
Well...I got my first phone call today, while I was working, of course. It caught me tee totally off guard! I felt like I was living part of a book while I was listening to her voice...A Tale of Two Cities, "It was the best of times, It was the worst of times". To be honest, I don't even remember the whole phone call! All I remember is she was crying, and I went into shock! I don't remember saying anything except, "Ok, I love you sweetheart", at the end. She said it is so hard, and there are 2-3 girls in her division that fight all the time, which causes ALL of them to get into trouble, so she only had 2 minutes to talk! I didn't have my list of questions with me because I was at work, and to make matters worse, I was in the middle of drawing blood from a patient. Lord, I wish I could have talked to her more!
