My SR requested to leave the Navy after less than a year. He did get an Honorable Discharge, but he did not stay in the 4 years. Now he is saying that he is eligible to receive Unemployment Compensation. Is this true?? He is in the state of Florida. This does not sound true to me but I was wondering if anyone knew about this? thanks much!!

My son leaves for boot camp July 2nd. He of course is counting down the days and so very excited. Joining the Navy is something he has talked about since he turned 11 and first joined the sea cadets. At first I thought "don't worry so much like all kids he'll change his mind half a dozen time" but he never did. His dream and goal has stayed true. When he turned 17 I went with him and we signed the papers. I have never been so proud. But now as the months fly by it's starting to hit me that…

Never in a million years did I expect a phone call from my youngest Daughter last November asking to come by and see me...Usually it was for school money...but we had just paid the last tuition payment for the semester. She came into my office and sat down and said "Now I don't want you to get mad"...Anyone who has a child knows, those are about the worst words any child could start a conversation with!...
I told her not to worry, only dogs get mad...I get angry! Well BOOM! she pops…

I was just wondering what clothing is and is not acceptable to wear at PIR. I specifically am asking about T-shirts. Is there anything that is totally a no-no? My husband and I have matching T-shirts that say NAVY(we are not in military) on them and wondered if they were acceptable to wear for PIR. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I'm getting kinda of depressed and a little sad that I have not received a letter since my son left for boot camp... Just selfishly wanting to know how he is doing and interested in his thoughts about boot camp. :(

I am so proud of her. She leaves May 15th for Basic...I sure would like to meet some more Mom's out there from the Arkansas area who have kids going into the Navy soon.
Just help in what to expect...

Got a call from Matt last night and we talked for almost an hour! He sounded great. Says BC is tough but he loves it. Says he does well at inspections and really knows how to fold his clothes the right way. I guess that was from all the training he learned while working at The Gap where he constantly had to fold and refold clothes on the store's shelves. :)
Says Div 924 is awesome, loves his team. They earned their first flag this week for Academics and their overall…

Just talked to Michaels Rec. looks like I can take him to Little Rock Ar. for his swearing in at there office in August. I just have to have him at the hotel at the time requested. My good friend Cheryl and my sons best friend Matthew will be going with us and my younger son will also be there. We are all leaving early so we can do some things together as a family looks like were hitting the zoo, Imax and Outback Steak House (my kid loves his meat lol). We can even stay at the same hotel but…
