Good Morning ALL ~ Hope everyone received their "official" 1st call from your SR yesterday. My husband spoke to our daughter around 5:00 p.m. and she had less than 20 mins to talk. It was GREAT to hear her say, even though it was from the mouth of my husban,d that she is still LOVING IT!! Today marks their 1st day of week 3 (they don't count the 1st week they were in BC as those were P-Days (Processing Days).
Our daughter is so thankful for the mail we send ~ she said…

My son joined about a month ago. He has had a wonderful recruiter that has guided him every step of the way and so far been very honest with us on what is what. He is scheduled to leave for boot camp Sept 18, 2012. He is going into the military police, he wants to work with the K-9 division and possibly move on to the SEALS. He is not excited, nervous or anything yet. Just taking it a day at a time. I think I must be nervous enough for both of us. The only concern I have is that he really…

Drum roll please... I finally received my first letter from my son... it was one heck of a letter... very raw... very vintage... very direct and to the point... sounds like he is also achieving some personal goals... and unfortunately was sick once as many in his division have been sick... despite all of that... he does sound like he is getting the BEST out of boot camp... just strongly dislikes the morning "wake up" call...

I know my brother still needs to get through boot camp and A School first, but I was wondering what happens after that? He is supposed to be a groomsman in my destination wedding in October, which is conveniently pretty much right next to NAS Pensacola, within 10 miles. I have a slim glimmer of hope he could get stationed there which would really help with travel!

Okay, I know I'm probably asking a dumb question but..If our SR's have pics taken, and they haven't gotten a check, are we still able to buy them somehow when we go to PIR? Thanks, kindly!

Our son called yesterday! It was great to talk to him. My husband was also able to speak to him too. He said he passed the physical training and swimming. He said he had to learn to fold his clothes, make his bed and March correctly. Maybe if he had worked at the Gap store instead of Dunkin Donuts that would have helped him out with the folding. lol
He did say that the men in his division have all done a good job. No ones getting into trouble. That's a relief.
I can't…

Good Friday just turned into a Grand Friday ~ WE GOT MAIL!! It was such a great letter & our daughter is still LOVING it!! We could hear the excitement in every word she wrote & that is music to our ears!!! I never new that she could write so very very small!! With being the Division Yeoman she says she continues to stay very busy everyday, which makes the days go by faster, even though her days are longer because she is up before everyone and down after…

Sohere we are.
Aside from the email from the recruiter, that didn't answer a lot of our questions, we haven't heard back. Cat even left 2 voice mails on his cell phone in the past 2 weeks. I'm giving him some grace though, as I'm sure he's busy with the up-coming graduations, Easter weekend, and his own family. But it's HARD not to be anxious. Thank you God for hearing my prayers and taking the edge off. I do NOT want to be a "pesky parent" or banshee...but the twinges of …

Do they make ALL the girls cut their hair, even if they have hair ties to keep it pulled back out of their face?
My daughters recruiter said that they changed this policy, not sure how honest our recruiter is!

I FINALLY got REAL MAIL! Omg it was so wonderful to hear from her! She seems to be in good spirits and still has her very wonderful sense of humor! She did get injured though(knee injury, bruised), and had to walk on crutches for a few days, or until it's better. I feel so relieved to see her beautiful handwriting on paper! Her last date on letters was March 31, so I hope her knee is recovering, because she was on light duty, and could not stand for more than 15 minutes at a time. She told…
