I want to wish my son Eric and everyone else on the USS GreenBay on their deployment.  They are leaving tomorrow and I wish them all well.  We will keep them in our prayers daily and know that I love you and all of you for your service.

My boyfriend is currently on deployment. This is my first deployment but he has been in the Navy for 12 years. I am having a difficult time dealing with him being away and missing so much of what is happening her at home. We are fortunate enough to have a limited interenet connection so that we can talk once a week and I try to send packages when I can. My son left January 18 for BC, what an emotional day that was and also the days working up to that day, and OMG!!! I still miss my SR terribly, but life goes on in our household! It's getting easier for my 10 yr old, knowing that he will see his big brother in March, AND he is now a big brother himself, so that helps as well.  I worry that it will be difficult all over again when we have to leave our son back in Illinois to go home!  My husband has been a big help, but I know deep down he still misses him just as much!  I miss his laugh, it was so contagious! we got the "box"...just as expected. The only surprise was the airline ticket stub..I guess that is his way of letting me know what airline he went on and the time.  We finally got a temporary address, and I posted it on his Facebook Page (he had given me the password for just that reason) I sent some letters and silly postcards.  Also included some comics from the funny pages. Will MEPS disqualify anyone from joining the Navy for Asthma before age 13?  Lots of kids have that at some point when they are young.
