Coming Home

Well here I sit on pins and needles as my son is on his way home. His dream of being a sailor and making a difference has been short lived. We have cried and prayed and wondered why.... no answers. Just administrative general seperation. After almost 2 years. He is devistated. He has been so proud of becoming a Navy Sailor and all he was going to do. Now he comes home and wonders was it worth it. He has only been home 3 weeks and 2 days since the day he left for RTC. He left Sept 18, 2012 (Only… Continue

The next step

Wow! Things have moved so quickly it seems as if just yesterday JT left for bootcamp. Now after that roller coaster ride is over, he is at "A" school. He had done his "OC" spray and did ok with it, and now he has called and he got to choose his duty station. My shock and awe is still in effect. He still has the opportunity to stay stateside for a little longer if he gets "MWD" military war dog, but if not he leaves for Guam after "A" school graduation for two years!! Two years mind you!! Ugh!!!… Continue

Moving Forward

It's been almost a month since JT graduated boot camp. Now, he is in "a" school. I still miss him like crazy and it is soooo hard to not call or text him 50 billion times a day. Some days are harder than others. Prayers are keeping me going. I know he is safe in "A" school and not deployed yet, and having a ball!! But I still miss him so much.

He has grown into such an awesome man.... The Navy has really changed him and made into an awesome person. ( not that he wasn't before) he talks… Continue

Not talking to him. I hve all my letters ready to mail tomorrow. I know he won't get them for at least another…

Getting Close

I can't believe how time has flown. J is getting ready to leave for BC in just 22 DAYS!! I am going to have areally hard time when he is gone. He has become such a lifeline for me. He is always around (unless he is with the GF, whom I LOVE) and always helping out. He is starting to stress some because he has been in bad moods more lately, but I think it is a combination of worry and not wanting to leave but excited and not being able to wait to get started. He recently meet a young lady whom…

It is a bitter sweet week. After an emergency appendectomy for my son he Graduates on Friday. We have been cleared by the dr to resume all activities and the recruit office is saying all is ago for September BC. There have been lots of tears and hugs this last week. And my son and I have gotten closer I think. Sometimes he walks by and hugs me and says I love you for no reason. He has never done that before now. I am excited he is starting this new chapter of his life. But so nervous at the… Continue

The final decision....

Well, today my son decided what he will do for sure. He has been very wishy washy on what he wanted to do as far as college and the NROTC scholarship., and bootcamp. Today we went to The Citadel for his Pre-Knob visit, he stayed all of 45 minutes and had them bring him to me. He looks me in the eye and says to me "Mom I am not ready for college, I want to go into the Navy first and see what I can do. I promise I will return in the future and become a Citadel grad one way or another, but…

Passing DEP Time.

My son joined about a month ago. He has had a wonderful recruiter that has guided him every step of the way and so far been very honest with us on what is what. He is scheduled to leave for boot camp Sept 18, 2012. He is going into the military police, he wants to work with the K-9 division and possibly move on to the SEALS. He is not excited, nervous or anything yet. Just taking it a day at a time. I think I must be nervous enough for both of us. The only concern I have is that he really…
