the box

Maybe it's just me but I thought getting the box was a very difficult day for me... And I absolutely hate that they call it "the kid in the box".  I get what they mean but I think it is extremely morbid!!

Emotions are Rising

It's been a week and a day since he's been gone and I feel completely emotional. I'm mad, I'm sad, I'm irritated, I'm lonely the list goes on.. i miss my boyfriend so much. I keep telling myself "7 more weeks its just 7 more weeks." I'm trying hard to be patient and keeping myself busy but lately I'm just getting more exhausted than usual. I remember when me and him had to count down 8 weeks till we can see each other more often when I lived in San Diego. It did go by fast, but it was easier… Continue

I have become my own worst nightmare!

I may have become the woman I used to avoid! YIKES!

Let me explain. Read on, as this does have SOMETHING to do with N4M's!!

I was the woman who appreciated every point of view. I always had very strong personal beliefs, but I kept my opinions to myself. Strong faith ( I do believe in God and that there is a plan), strong family ties (Like being nice to certain family members when I don' t really like them!) a strong moral compass ("Do unto others" stuff...), perhaps generous to a… Continue

What should my daughter be bringing to boot camp

I have been reading all kinds about what women should be bringing to boot camp. I have read everything from bring nothing but the clothes on her back, SS Card, ID, ATM Card, $$, Phone Cards, and stamps.

I have also read that she needs to bring 6 cotton bras, 6 pairs of cotton underwear, 2 white half slips, 2 pairs of stockings/nylons, plus the stuff named above.

Please help me as getting info from the recruiter has been difficult. I am beginning to feel like I…

Any NW Moms out there... Seattle area?

Hello my newest family!  I was just wondering if there were any Moms on here from the Seattle area.  Our son left on 8/15 for boot camp and he just received the infamous box of belongings.  We have yet to receive our first letter with his address but we are aware of the waiting period. Since my husband (my son's Dad) has been in the Navy for more than 20 years we know what to expect when it comes to the basics.  Course we also…
