What an amazing weekend. Got to spend Friday with him and Sat at the airport with him. His flight left at 8:30am, but we met him there at 2am. The ceremony was fantastic and we stayed at the Navy Lodge and that was amazing. It was so close to the base and very nice. Sarge's meet and great was great and gave a lot of good information. Over all a weekend I will never forget.
Waiting now to head to Midway to wait with our Sailor. He is also headed to Pensacola and he will have a 12 hour wait.
We spent 12 hours at O'Hare with my Sailor before he left for SA. I can tell you ALL ABOUT Terminal 3 at O'Hare! You can get a pass at the ticket desk. Just be sure your Sailor meets you there. They are very understanding about Navy families and we even got to go through the VIP TSA line.
Onatalie64... not sure who told you that you couldn't meet them there..... that's where we are headed to shortly... we were told YES and that's where you can give them the phones, laptops. You will have to check in thru security. My son will be there almost 12 hours waiting for his flight and we are waiting with him for most of that time.
He will most likely call you from the airport....he can borrow a cell once there. So be sure you have your cell phone on during the night, just in case.
Nrainygirl: It could be either a.m. or p.m. But if the ticket says p.m., that's what it is! That means he has a long time in the airport. But you will be there with him, right? So you will get some extra time together! Hoping that your flight out of Ohare isn't until late afternoon or evening!
Someone in this TG is now one of my sons roommates in GL. :)
Enjoy your weekend time with your sailors! Please don't forget to post on here about your experiences. Also, please post any "corrected" info that we N4Moms veterans may have gotten wrong...changes do happen! We want to make sure that we are passing along accurate info to the new groups.
And remember...each of you is now a N4Moms veteran! HOOYAH! We welcome you to join our "team" and jump on the PIR groups to share info and advice. Any time!
