Yes, Congrats on the E-3!

Dunno, he might have to suck it up and get the blow dryer! Your NOT so silly suggestion was a good one Cindy.

Really, take the insoles out and let them dry...take them to the laundry with you and put them near the dryer (not in or on) any kind of indirct heat. Heat on the boot is going to melt the wax in the polish and screw up the laborious shine that they get on them.

Love the story Drama! LOL

Cindy....BravoZulu to your son for making E3 in BC!

Cindy...I am laughing at this one.  My son is at A school in SA and he asked his CPO how the CPO got his boots to so shiny.  It turns out that the CPO uses his wife's pantyhose and traveling blow dryer.  So the next time my son was in SA he went to a store and got black pantyhose and a blow dryer.  When he went to check out, the clerk (a young woman) looked at him and said "I don't think that's your color (referring to the pantyhose)."  My son replied "It's not what you think." She replied "Uh huh."  He does now have some of the best shined boots in his class! I don't see this happening at boot camp!!!

Oh man cindyship..I don't even want to know what it did to them! I can just imagine. (cringe, cringe) I'll ask my hubby...he is a Boot conniseur (sp)! LOL Shhh, don't tell him I said that!

Griff'sma, thanks for the link, sent a friend request.

Talked to my son today, they had straight line winds and downpours yesterday and not sure how much more rain today.  Trying to figure out how to get his boots dried out! I made the silly suggestion that he ask around if anyone had a blow dryer (thinking like a female). Was promptly told "Mom, that's stupid guys don't use blow dryers and I am NOT going to ask!"  He said one person had the not so smart idea to put his boots in the clothes dryer!!! oh my!

Hi everyone.  Thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing. Still feels odd not being here every morning and day!  My son is settling into NATTC at Pensacola CTT.  Had to give him pats on the back fro coming out of BC as E3, think that's good, pls correct me if I'm wrong.  He and another young man from his division168 are CTT AEF and will go to Corry Station after they have finished classes.  Getting confused with all the ratings and abbrev.'s.  Any other Mom's that want to stay in contact friend me here or on facebook.  I get alot of error messages on this site so facebook is better for me.  It was nice to see others post that they have sailors at Pensacola!  Question:  did anyone get video from PIR?  My other son did but the dang thing was out of focus alot and I get dizzy watching it!  It's on my Facebook page if anyone wants to watch it.  Take care everyone!

When it rains, it pours :-( If you received an email from me (regular email from uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com, not this sites emails/messages)  it would have had a weird weird link on it. DO NOT open the link. I didn't send it and it could be a virus. I am so sorry for any inconvenience this could have caused and of my friends. I get these emails all the time so I know not to open them. But I guess somehow I got a virus from it. Don't open it and you will be fine. I never send links like that in an email. I would only send you a link to my website or facebook page and that would be in the middles of a real message that you can tell is from me. Thanks

My son hated shower shoes at BC, but always wore them knowing it was IT or worse if he didn't.

At A School there is a rule of no standing water, so after they shower they have to dry not only themselves but the shower too. They also must mop everyday with a bleach and water solution.

I guess Athletes Foot isn't overly contagious at first, but once it gets going it can run rampant from what I have read.

Wow is right! When I was talking to my son last night my son told me about the mando about wearing shower shoes! LOL...wasn't something I exactly thought to ask about!
I'm going to ask him if he wears them when he goes to his drill weekends...he should!
