Good morning everyone - it's so great to hear your PIR stories and share your excitement.  My sailor graduated in January and N4M is still my lifeline.  Be sure and join the groups that are appropriate for your sailor - his A School group, his ship group, etc.  And if you can, help with the future PIR groups.  You have the most updated info of all of us!  Bravo Zulu to all of your sailors!

Wow what an amazing weekend - Got to meet some terrific N4M's and got to spend the whole weekend with my son. PIR was awesome what a wonderful group of sailors we have. Thank you all for helping me get through these last 8 weeks but my son is now moving on to the next phase of his Navy Career in Pensacola,FL for CTT training although it was very hard and emotional telling him goodbye today. If there are any other N4M's that have sailors in Pensacola for CTT training please join the Cryptology Group

cindyship11div168...and to all of you new ALUMNI...this is only the beginning of an amazing journey and we get to share it together! That's how we can get through ANYTHING.  We come from different parts of the country, different walks of life and yet, we became a family when our loved one decided to choose the Navy.  I learn something new here EVERY DAY....thanks to all of you!! HOOYAH!

What a fantastic weekend! PIR was everything the ladies on this website said and more. I still have chills watching my son and his fellow recruits become sailors. The ceremony was dignified and full of tradition. I got lots of pictures! While my son was already quite a young man before bootcamp, it was nice to see the refinement.

After PIR we took a tour of Wrigley field. I highly recommend it. I got such a kick out of seeing my son get recognition for his service. I saw it all weekend for all our young men. Later we went to an early dinner, I loved the fact that we had time to catch up. He was able to Facetime the family back home. We also had most of the day on Saturday at Ohare to just talk and have lunch as we were able to get gate passes. I agree, everyone was so understanding of Navy families.

He bought the super package of pictures, beautiful commemorative frames, and the division sweatshirts and sweatshirts for his Dad and I. He was so excited to present his gifts and I was so overjoyed to receive them. We said our goodbyes and I sent my son on the next stage of his journey... What a weekend!

Thank you to all the ladies on this site, I don't know what I would have done without you. Twinsmom, it was wonderful to meet you and your family. One last note, my husband and I had the chance to visit the Navy Pier. It was a lot of fun. If you get the opportunity venture a visit. Lot's to do.

Wow, we are now ALUMNI!  My son is now hopefully safe and sound in Pensacola and family is all back home.  Roller coaster of emotions... don't think I can quite put it in words yet.

If any of you would like to jump on the PIR 06/08 group and share your experiences at PIR, I know those ladies would love it.  So feel free to do that!  They are almost there!
