We are near Lexington, and they are closing the post office there and moving operation to Tennessee I believe. My son is intelligence and goes to A and C school in Dam Neck, VA after BC so either location is about the same drive from here very happy about that

Well I hope it isn't much longer. It usually arrives within 2 weeks and most of the time less than that. I have been to the areas near you several times. Especially Lexington. They have the craziest roads there. That was the first place I had ever seen (I was younger then) that had lanes of traffic going in one direction in the morning and the opposite directions in the evening. It was nuts for this small town girl :-) My mom was born in Summerset.

Thanks for the info on division number, usually a long wait for mail in small Kentucky town

Janet it looks like someone gave you the wrong information. division 002 had PIR in November and div 102 has PIR next week. You may want to check with the recruiter again and have him/her recheck or wait for the form letter to see what division he is in. I'm sorry I know it's hard waiting but it should arrive soon.

I feel kinda lost, not received box or letter, son called me on 3-14 that he arrived and sent box home. Recruiter sent me his address on Friday as ship 2 division 02 but I don't see anyone else on here with that address too
Comment by diannep on March 20, 2012 at 8:24am

...should add....for those who have already mailed to recruiter's addresses, if that address turns out to be incorrect, your SR should still eventually receive the letters.  They make every attempt to get them there.  Just may take a bit longer.

Comment by diannep on March 20, 2012 at 8:23am

For those of you using recruiter's addresses to mail to your SRs, be sure to check this with the form letter SR's address when you receive it.  The form letter address is the correct one.  The recruiters get the addresses off the computer and sometimes they change.  Mail is held from your SRs for the first 2 weeks of bootcamp, until they can get the Recruit Mail Petty Officer trained.  They usually receive this first batch of mail the 2nd Sunday after they arrive.  After that, they will receive mail every day but Sundays (although there is disagreement on mail received on Sat?  Some have said yes, some no).

Good morning!  Gail, thanks for starting this group!

I am another N4Moms veteran....been helping on the PIR site now for over 2 years.  My son is now out of the Navy, but I love helping here so I have stayed!  Looking forward to getting to know you ladies as you make your way through the emotional ups and downs of bootcamp!

It can be a little risky posting their address to facebook. They can't have packages or food or musical cards or much of anything beside letters. Some well meaning family members may get them some extra IT (Intense training) and if it is their facebook one of their "friends" may send something just to get them "IT" as a joke. Believe me they won't think it's funny. Some of them may not have their pages set to private so no telling who will have access to their address.

You guys are growing quickly and that is awesome. The preprinted labels are a great idea. It saves them time which in theory gives them more time to write to you :-)

Remember not to post last names on this site.

If you keep hearing a beeping sound it is the chat and you can disconnect it at the bottom of your screen. If your email is getting bombarded with emails from this site you can go into your settings and change what email will be sent to you. I was getting over 500 a day and couldn't find the ones I needed.

@Annette- your son and my son are alot alike. I to just got the letter with the basic info on it. I think they are afraid to rock the boat so to say. Hoping that he will write me back. Should tell him you are not in Kanas anymore and need to write cause you can not text...........lol. For one thing I HAVE YOUR PHONE! Lol.
