I am also leaving this group now, on to the new PIR groups.

As Lala said, "Fair winds and following seas" to all of you on the new journeys with your Sailors.

I am leaving this group now to help the new PIR groups but if any of you have any problems or questions at all about A-school or anything else I am only a message away. You can reach me by sending a message to me on this site, through my email uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com or through contact us on my website http://www.uniquememorymakers.com/ A lot of you have my cell number and you can always reach me that way as well. I hope you and all your Sailors have a plesant A-school journey and get to visit often. There can be some hard times during A-school so continue to be as supportive as you were during boot camp for your Sailor. I wish "Fair winds and following seas" to all of you.  Lala

Kim, I just got a call from my son and he just classed up today as well.  It means that they get to move on to the next level in their training for their OS.  For my AD son, it means he only has 18 more class days at his A school and then gets to request his next location for on the job training.

Comment by Kim on May 28, 2012 at 11:43pm

Alex classes up on Tuesday. His brother was jelouse because he had to wait 2 months to class up.

My son said  "Join the Navy turning out 300+ janitors per week". lol He was on hold at GL also, but it only lasted about three weeks. Yep, sweeping the stairwells and watch it was. He has now moved on to ATT before A School.

Comment by KikiOtter on May 24, 2012 at 9:11am

lol Hurry Hurry Hurry! Step right up so we can make you wait!!! lol

Nancy-think my hubs was just talking about your son yesterday. I remember him saying one of the guys he ended up on hold with was CS. Just bummer that they have to just sit and clean and be bored until navy decides "whatever...go here instead". :p

Comment by MattsMom (Division 212) on May 23, 2012 at 1:32pm

My son is also on hold right now at GL, hurry up & wait is exactly right! lol

Comment by KikiOtter on May 21, 2012 at 5:46pm

@Nancy- don't think that's same issue with mine. They started classes today, but a few of them got pulled and put on hold this afternoon I think. :-/ And no answers as to why, of course.
