does anyone know when recruits will get their flight info, departure date, etc? my son is going to Virginia, but i have no idea when. I would like to bring his phone and contact lenses to give him at airport, but my schedule is pretty tight as i am driving thursday nite after work and need to be at work monday. 8+ hour drive so if he leaves saturday i would drive home after he leaves
Good morning, all! Have a wonderful day!
Just an FYI on your FORM LETTER. Do NOT throw it out and make sure you put it where you will find it. Some have even scanned it into their computer. You will need it for the Confidential Password for the Vehicle Gate Pass if you are driving onto RTC. The Vehicle Pass can also be used for TSC Great Lakes Saturday and Sunday I hear...for those whose Sailors will be schooling there.
Smile 09 Once you are at graduation u take your seat and stay put. Once the graduation is done you get up and find your SR.
Just a little "business" for the newer groups:
If your username contains your last name and it is the same as your Recruits...you will need to change it. Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on the N4M's site as per the Community Guidelines. If it is not the same it is still a good idea not to post it as this is a public forum. Anyone can read the open groups they do not have to be a member.
Please do not post personal phone numbers, emails etc. You may send these to your friends through the N4M's private messaging system.
You don't need any info except the password to print your pass. Once you print it you write in all the info.
So what all information do you need to get your gate pass. We are getting a rental car at the aiport, so I will not have any of the car information until that point.
To the person who sent the Message to Group about how much time the sailors have on PIR weekend. It depends on whether they are flying out or staying at GL A School. If flying out, you will have PIR Day until 8 or 9 pm...and then you can meet them at the airport the next day and wait with them for their flights (you can obtain an airlines gate pass so you can wait at the gate with your sailors). Occasionally those flying out are delayed until Sunday or Monday, so we recommend that all book their return flights on Sunday or later if possible just in case.
For those staying in GL for A School, they will have a brief time with you after PIR and then as a group will be moved over to A School base (next door). This can take 3-5 hours. So make sure they have a phone card with them to call you when ready to be picked up later in the day for liberty. You can do whatever you like during that time, no need to stay on RTC. They should have daytime liberty with you through the weekend, except for "watch" times. Also, A School students can return to base that first night after liberty with their cellphones so you can stay in touch easier. You can use the RTC gate pass to obtain access to the A School base.
