Call the local hotels direct and ask for the PIR or bootcamp graduation discount. Navy Lodge is only $65 a night I believe and you can get a kitchenette for that same price. They don't have a shuttle though. They also will give you a guest pass to be able to shop at the nex just down the street without Military ID :-) Just ask at the front desk when you check in. You don't need military ID for this Navy Lodge you just have to reserve the room in your Recruits name because they normally require military ID to stay there. They will ask you to have your recruit stop by the front desk after PIR but they don't enforce that. They know you are so excited that you will forget lol.

Just made my reservations at Homewood Suites; got a great rate with the PIR discount!!! so excited to have plans in the works...rental car next on the list!

Thank you everyone for all your support!! :) I feel so content coming here to read these comments. They truly do makes me feel better! I hope that I will be getting a letter or a call soon. I will definitely have my phone at my at all times! At night, when I sleep, the volume is at its highest and on vibrate !  Good-luck to everyone <3

Lala, my daughter is going to A school in Florida I will be so happy if I get the whole weekend! I'm staying just incase envenomed thou she told me she might be leaving right away. Just incase :-)

Thanks Betsy, it scares me to death to put a teenager out on the road but she has been driving with us every day too and from school and to work and back and pretty much everywhere else we go. So she at least has had quite a bit experience. 

I thought maybe that is what you meant but the way things keep changing up there it is lard to keep up with sometimes :-)

Ladies I just got a phone call from a mom who's daughter just had PIR yesterday. She is going to Pensacola for A-school and doesn't leave until Monday. So her parents are getting an unexpected extra two days with her. They won't be able to meet her at the airport on Monday because they fly back on Sunday but still great to have that extra time with her when they thought they would only have her on Friday. This is why we say to stay through Sunday if you can because it does happen :-)

Lala, Congratulations to your step daughter.  If you were referring to what I had said about seeing sailors with the peanut butters on at the mall, that was on Saturday.  I'm guess I wasn't clear in my post, sorry.

I knew I wouldn't get that across well...LOL.

Lets include P days and say at the earliest...Three weeks after arrival...four weeks after arrival is more likely.

Remember though...calls are not guaranteed...we are giving you the most common thing we see.
