Day 1 from home to GL

Ok dropped my son off last night at the hotel & up first thing this morning to meet him over at MEPS.  Typical mom stuff, did you eat? how'd you sleep? you ok? And a few more questions....he was awesome today!  Sort of just kept smiling & laughing at me & telling us all he loved us.  He's all offically sworn in & signed the contract to change him from DEP to Enlisted.  I couldn't be more proud.  So many well wishes from family & friends today.  He didn't want to take his… Continue

Married to the Navy

So my sister recently got engaged… I’m trying my hardest to

be happy for her. But I just don’t know how to, when I’m jealous of her. I’m

jealous that she will have her husband, everyday right by her side. I’m jealous

that she doesn’t have to worry, worry if he’s going to get deployed. I should

say when he’s going to get deployed, and where to. I’m jealous that she doesn’t

have to be away from. She knows he will be there when she comes home.

She doesn’t…

since he was 11 yrs old.  He was in Sea Cadets for seven years before

joining the Navy.  He is in SARS as an AWR-Rescue Swimmer...... I am still not quite sure what this means.... I think it means that he is a

tactical SAR.....  I am still investigating.....…

A Navy Wife, A New Mother, and Looking For Some Friends.

Today marks the day of mine and my husband's one year anniversary( I can't believe its already been a year), and as of December 6th 2010 I became a mother to a wonderful son. Damen is our first child and he is the light of mine and my husband's life, he really makes us feel like a family. I do enjoy being able to spend time with my two wonderful men ,but at times I would like to be able to go out and hang out with friends or at least be able to have some friends to be able to talk to. With my… Continue

"the box"

The box has finally arrived today by fedex. I was prepared to have my head turned away while opening it due to many saying sometimes they smell bad. I was thankful my husband either donated or threw away his pants, boxers, and socks. so his box smelled like new shoes. :) Also in his box was his phone which was stuffed in his shoe along with his ipod, sweater, shirt, a huge packet of papers, and info from the airline.

I have to say, although my daughter was pulling out his…

Every Day Hardships

My husband just got home from a two week underway. Two weeks with him being gone and I felt lost. I wrote him emails constantly (once I figured out his boat address), and sent texts to his phone (even though I knew he couldn't receive them). I moped in my pajamas, on the couch, the recliner, or in my bed, for the first three days he was gone. It doesn't help that I'm pregnant and hormonal, not to mention I have a history of being easily susceptible to depression. The day he actually left I said… Continue
