1 down and seven more weeks to go.

Today marks the first full week my son is in Boot Camp.  I am pretty sure he is done with his P-days so maybe this is his first full week of training.  As I have read on here that no news is good news, so I am assuming everything is ok.  I miss him terribly and I thought it would get easier but until I hear from him I won't be at ease.  I often wonder what he is doing right now.  So hard to concentrate on things when all I can think of is him.

1 week down and 7 more to go.  I…

I got a call

We are blessed today with my daughter's voice.  We finally got that call that we have been waiting for.  She was crying and saying she is homesick.  It broke my heart but I didn't cry.  I wanted to be strong for her.  We just gave her a lot of encouragement.  She made friends and one more test to go for promotion.  She was telling us that she got her dog tags yesterday and uniforms.  We probably talked for about 10 minutes.  I can't wait to hear from her again.

September 3....

My husband leaves for boot camp on September 3. I've tried to prepare myself but I'm so emotional. I cry more than he knows. I'm usually a strong person, but being without him is treating me down.... Hopefully the time will fly by quickly....

Received the box today :-(

I came home from having lunch with some friends and the box was sitting on my coffee table, my youngest son had signed for it.  I have to say I broke down. I was reluctant to open it but I am glad I did.  I don't know how I am going to make it the whole 8 weeks.  It is much harder than I thought it would be.  I have had 8 months to prepare for this and I still can't handle it.  I contacted his recruiter this morning and he gave me my son's address so I mailed him a letter with some stamps…

I'm new to this but wanted to have contact with someone who is going
Through the same emotions. I received my daughter's box the other
Day and the form letter today. I heard she would be able to write a few
Lines but that was not the case. Her PIR is October 11th. She is on Ship
12 Div 387. I am elated and mailed off her letters today.

Ship 11 Div 383

Received the form letter yesterday. Really cheered me up. I am in full swing of making travel arrangements for my son's PIR on October 11th. Now I can't wait to get a letter from him. I mailed the 3 letters I had already written  this morning. I have so many questions, mainly I just want to know how he is doing and if it is everything he expected. He has wanted to join the Navy since he was 10 years old and now he's there! Can't wait to hear all about it. Hope everyone has a great day!
