I just signed up for this and I thought it would be helpful, and on an intellectual level, it has been, but emotionally, I am so overwhelmed by all the things I didn't know. And more so by the things I know I still have no idea about.
My son leaves on Monday for GL and while I'm so excited, I'm so sad. I've been reading about "The Box" and all the things that get sent home and smelling his clothes and crying and I think to myself, What has he gotten me…

My son has beed trying to get into the Navy for close to a year now. We have hit a few stumbling blocks, I say we because I have been trying to advocate for him because of the of delay after delay with paperwork and medical issues. My son now was told he has a mild pulmonary disease. the civilian doctors say he is fine. He has to wait for a waiver, if the waiver isn't signed at his MEPS station in Miami, we are told it will have to go the the headquarters in Tenn., I wonder how long this…

Still waiting for the famous form letter to come.. needless to say, I am not a very patient person. I find myself speeding home just to get to the mailbox to see if it is there.... like if it is it would go away somehow.. silly, I know.
I realize that I am not the first, only or last mother to be in these shoes....still, it doesn't make the waiting any better.
I know that when it finally does come...it will be like Christmas! Just to know a little something...…

The clock is running out. I'm overwhelmed with emotions about seeing him. My boyfriend graduates from bootcamp this Friday. He has been gone for 7 weeks now. I got very lucky and his graduation is earlier than most. I haven't talked to him since August 30. He told me normally they would allow them to call more, but the division he is in is very disrespectful and "phone calls are a privelege, not a right". I get a letter every week and sometimes twice a week. I keep thinking about how close I…
