I know that this will be hard and I can accept that, but there are those moments that you just want to break down & cry. I know it will get easier but still hard right now. I could have strangled my son yesterday, I went to his bathroom and there were 5 LOADS of laundry - REALLY but I guess I shouldn't expect anything different.
I…

Our recruiter, who also checked with his Chief, told us to have our sons permanent retainer removed (you know the one they get after braces). He saw the Navy Dentist at boot camp and come to find out, he did not have to have it removed. I looked this question up before we had it removed and I could not find anything. OH well, once he gets to A school he can have one put back in- provided my son remembrs to do just that (and finds the time). How can we spread…

We had a wonderful "Going Away Party" for our son. We were lucky to have his party right before the 4th of July so we found all kinds of American decorations. My favorite was the Navy flag I found online which ended up being the backdrop to all the friends and family (over 100 people) to stand in front of for pictures. I then got all the pictures and make a book which I am…

My son Austin, is in ship 13...div 348 he shipped out on July 16 2013. I was just wondering if there were any other parents with boys/girls in this ship and division?
Today was my sons last day as a civilian. We had a big going away dinner with him last night; picked him up from the hotel, went to dinner then came back and sat in the lounge are and just talked until he was due in his check in. His recruiter said that we should be at MEPS by 7:00 this morning; wow we had…

Got my third phone call today. She sounded so upbeat and ready for what ever comes next. Sounds like next week is not going to be fun but at least she sounds like she is ready for it.
She had her wisdom teeth out on Monday and I guess this put her on bed rest for two days. She did not like to not be able to do anything but at least she was still upbeat about it. Said that she was still bleeding a little but was not in pain and could talk. She did mention that she looked like a…

So I just got a call from my boyfriend and he told me that he is being allowed to make a new list of guests for his graduation. He told me that he had put me on this new list with his family. How will I know if I have actually been put on the list? Is there some official "something" that I am supposed to receive? It would be a shame to fly all the way out there just to find out that I cannot attend....So my overall question is how in the world do I know that I am actually allowed to attend…

My son’s wife has been debating on what to do about my sons A school. My son wants her to go stay where he is going to be so he can see her on weekends. His A school is only two months how much time will he even get to spend with her? Overnight visits? Weekend leave? Is it worth it? What are the general rules for A school in Mississippi regarding leave, what can they bring there and what can be shipped there?

When do Sailors get their orders? Do they go straight from their A or C school to their duty station? Are they allowed any leave time to go home and get ready to be relocated? I am hoping that my son gets orders for San Diego or even LA. It’s a big military town so maybe, but I know it’s a long shot.

Well this is the final week my SR will be home. I still don't have a definite date for his departure. I always thought he was leaving on the 1st, but he kept telling me was the 31st. I get a text from him at the recruiters office saying he is leaving on 1st. I think I will call the recruiter just for verification, I am NOT going to miss his swearing in. I have known since fall of last year that he…
