Sarge's Meet & Greet _ Highly Recommended

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to drop you all a note regarding Sarge's Meet & Greet.  When I told my husband and older son we were going there they were not so thrilled. (To say the least.) Then we walked in and hardly anyone was there. (We were a tad early.) The décor is very country. Hence Sundance Saloon. (My son was looking for the bull) The food is all donated so it's just okay but wait it's free.

On to the most important thing: INFORMATION!!!! If you want…

My Daughter leaves for Boot Camp on 1/23/13,anyone else?

My little girl leaves in 5 days and my heart is so sad right now, I've had a knot in my stomach for about a week and I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye to my first born. I still have 3 boys left at home, but there's nothing like the connection and friendship mothers and daughters share. I will miss her soooo much!

34TH RP ANNIVERSARY

34 years ago on 15 January 1979, the Religious Program Specialist (RP) rating was established.

The Navy had realized that chaplains needed specialized support in order for them to provide appropriate ministry and pastoral care.  The Navy also recognized that chaplains, as non-combatants, required security support in combat and conflict environments.

For 34 years RPs have proven their value time and time again; at sea, ashore, and in combat.  Both active and…

FIRST LEAVE...

Christmas time is here... No talk of coming home, A School will be starting soon.  As much as the thought of him not being here, and spending a Holiday alone eats at me... that may be best.  There will be other Sailors that can't take leave, someone will still be on the base... they will need someone there too.  I could take that, my parents 50th Ann is in March... maybe he can take the time then...…

Desperate for Answers~

Hi N4M! This is my first blog that i have written. My life for the last 4 years has been an emotional roller coaster with my spouse. My husband and i have been married for 2 years together 3. I have never been the type of woman to be all in his finances and statements, and i'm beginning to feel like that's my dummy mistake. He has a son, and our whole relationship began with him going to boot camp. I had his son while he was in A school, we broke up, got back…

Group Hug/Ship out date 1/15/13

My son shipped out today. We were fortunate enough to be able to attend the swearing in ceremony. It helped to see my son in a group of his peers swearing in with confidence and sure in his decision.

Its been a rough couple of days, today being by far the hardest for me. That last heart wrenching hug and watching him walk down the hall.. :/ I've been a sobbing slobbering mess ever since.

So...to the moms and dads out there waiting for their phone call I want you to know I'm thinking… Continue

DEP INFO

DEAR NAVY MOMS

It has been over a year now since my son left for boot camp, and I've always intended to write to DEP mothers and let them know a few things I learned.

First just because your child leaves on a certain date doesn't mean that is the day his/her boot camp begins. My son was at Great Lakes at least a week and half until he started basic training. Great Lake's waits until they get a full unit until they begin, I never could understand why he had to leave 2…
