Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I came to the realization that he wouldn't be living in my house ever again the week before he left, but I couldn't bring myself to tell HIM. I was so sad. I'm the momma, after all, and know these things...LOL. He left the house, like he always leaves the house...keys on the counter, boots at the door, dirty clothes and an unmade bed....really? what is this kid thinking?...I just couldn't tell him. I wanted him to go through his room and pack all his stuff, but then that realization would be slapping us both in the face, and I just couldn't do it. So, now his room is as he left it....save for the alarm clock that I unplugged ('cuz it was driving me crazy) and the clothes & bedding I've picked up and washed. He'll have to deal with at some later date, but I know then it will not as the flighty, selfish kid that left in whirlwind in August, but as the man he has become.

I just love that I can come here and go crazy, you all understand! My SR is my youngest, and we have always been close. I know we will be still, but I miss hearing "But Mama!" all the time. He is our jokester and could always make me smile

Aside from that - I am, just as I know we all are, so full of Pride that I can't hardly stand it, and so excited to see where the rest of his life takes him!! Just as long as every once in awhile, he still wants his momma. :-)

Judy & Laura - THANK YOU for letting me know I am /was not a crazy wing-bat!!!! I started packing some things up in his room, we'd gone through everything before he left and they went into keep, give away, and don't care piles. Well, all the keep stuff I washed and then had to do something with. I bought some totes, and started puttting "treasures" away, and the 1st tote is still there, haven't gone back in - freak out when someone else goes into his room, and just finally put his washed laundry away last week. He and DH are almost the same size, and younger sibling will grow into his cloths, but do you think I've gone through the folded basket of his 'give away is someone wants it' pile? Nope - just can't do it. I mean, he's gonna have to have somewhere to go on his 20 days a year of leave -right? And his approx. 2 weeks after A-school, right? How can I possibly be expected to clear out his stuff? Well, I'm just not gonna do it - that's all!!! And there I stomp my foot, wipe my eyes and walk away cursing the maillady for NOT BRINGING ME ANY MAIL!!!
In closing - I am very relieved to know I am not NUTS!! :-) :-)) Thank you Navy Moms!!!

Oh, no it never will. I am looking forward to the day I am a grandparent and can tell my kids, "see why I was so crazy?" Especially hoping my daughter has a daughter so that during the teen years, I can just watch it all, lol.
