Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Karen- haha..no problem..I answer to anything. Yes, they did do gun range last week and also had two(2) inspections...so could be a combo of the two ??? weapons and uniforms?? haha, who knows, we are just the moms! Whatever he got the 100% on-he did GOOD!!!!

OK helenq -you're right - should not be watched at work. I just checked it out again, and it got me!! Whew. Pretty quick recovery though..
Navywife - knew it both times before the pee hit the stick! Just a 'gut' feeling I guess. I know - that was bad, sorry... :-)

Sorry helenq!! I watched it at home in the wee hours of morning - so it was ok to bawl! But they're not sad tears really, just emotional.. pride mostly I think. :-) Hope the waterworks have stopped for you, and tell your buds ur not nuts, just a NavyMom!!

Pristine~She said she thought his letter was from two Sundays ago, which makes sence since yesterday was Sunday, and I think they did the gun range this past week, right? Not weapon uniforms? I didn't actually speak to her, she texted me, she's in school. She must of gone home for lunch? I'll have to ask her when the letter was dated.

My SR's girlfriend recieved a lttr from my son today. She said his lttr was short, but that his div earned their second flag, and he recieved a hundred percent on his weapons uniform, and he said he can't wait to get out of BC and that he didn't have time to write anything else! That was all he had time to say. I didn't recieve a letter today, maybe I'll get one tomorrow?

I'm not on here often, but I do want share a couple things, one being that the last time my SR called, he asked that we keep one of his new friend's mother in our prayers - she may not make it to PIR because of cancer, she's from CA. Also to say that I wrote my son to let him know how comforting it is to be in church Sunday mornings and to know he is there too - just not right beside us in the pew, he says little things he actually misses like taking out the garbage, but also big things like his relationship with God means more too. What a great experience BC has become! Really enjoy reading your comments and I haven't even thought about what I'm going to wear - YIKES!
