HarmonyWorks ~ Thank you so much for the clarification. I for one am not asking my son to do anything after graduation. Not to be mean to any of the other moms who want to do something with their recruits - but my son has told me many times in his letters he wants to take a long shower and then relax with us - catch up on everything and let us know how is training went.

The other thing on my end is that he will be a grad and go so there won't be any time for anything additional except a nice reunion!

My friend's son who was in GL last December told me he requested a leave bec his family was going to be there and he didn't have to report back til Monday morning.....I know on the site it says something different but I'm just communicating to everyone what he said so I'm going to suggest to my SR to do the same and see what happens..... :)

I would suggest going to Downtown Chicago, Navy Pier, or even Six Flags....I'm going to write to him tonight and am going to ask him what he wants to do....Also pending on Navy Ball for Friday night which HarmonyWorks should find out the truth by tomorrow.....I believe if they request a weekend leave because their family is in town; they don't have to report back to RTC til Monday but please ask your SR first...

Leny'smom:
Reference my posting on Chicago. Posted about 8-9 days ago, I think. If this is your first visit to Chicago. Do not miss the opportunity to visit Chicago. Beautiful City, Beautiful people!

I just ordered a 'Proud grandparent' t-shirt from Zazzle and saw the N4Mom t's on there site. What kind of things are your families planning on doing the weekend of PIR? Besides a lot of catching up and feeding him some homecooking (he asked for apple pies) and he requested going out to a 'good' seafood restaurant, Friday will be taken up with the graduation, but Sat. and Sun. I know he will want to get out and do things. Going into Chicago can get pretty expensive, pretty fast, so I thought about six flags and don't know what else is out there for families of all ages. Any thoughts??

Just came back from two hours of laughing out loud. Boy I needed that. I went to see Bill Cosby live. That man had us all in stitches.
Thank you for the info on hell week-I was a little confused. I thought some kind of wild and crazy heavy IT!!
NavymomLG, Cameowlot & Native Chicago. - Yes, we will have to stay in touch. How special is that, that the SR's get to start together and go off to school together. and we already know of each other :-)
Vickie- I am so happy to hear life is better.
Cameowlot-you keep resting up!
No I am not bringing a crock pot-my SR hated crock pot meals. We only get one day with him so I have a feeling it is going to be pizza and good coffee!!
Still pouting about that G&G thing. Was going to take SR to six flags-now I have to ride those rides with my 13 year old. Aarrgghh-I am not a roller coaster person. Talk to you all later
