For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Who on September 17, 2010 at 2:45pm: @navywife621....haha, you'll learn the lingo and the ins and outs before you know it. the few letters my mom actually got from me in boot camp probably made things worse because i talked about and used acronyms that were probably much like reading japanese ;) sometimes i still have to catch myself and explain what something is =]

Comment by NavyMomLG on September 17, 2010 at 2:38pm: Isn't it amazing how some people think? My sister-in-law asked if my SR could make it home sometime in October for a family picture! Her brother told her he wasn't going to summer camp.

I love my blue candle, and since it is so big, I have been burning it on Sunday's too. I figure they have down time on Sunday until 13:00, so I am sending relaxation his way.

I think 337/338 are brother divisions. I can't wait to find out when they do BS.

Comment by Who on September 17, 2010 at 2:31pm: @cameowlot....very true. 947 will not be walking in with the rest of the divisons and 822 should be last in the drill hall. 800s and 900s do not have brother divisions

Comment by NavyMomLG on September 17, 2010 at 1:35pm: Today is one month for my SR at BC. I hope he is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I am hoping for a letter today, haven't seen anything since Monday. A phone call would be nice too, but his Div has already gotten two, so I may not hear from him again until the "I'm a sailor" call.

And the sideways picture was cute! Here he looks to me like he just got in trouble for some little mischeivious act! Too cute!
Make sure to check w/ your hotel on thier pet policies!
