Oh my gosh, our truck is in the shop right now too. My husband can fix most anything by himself so I'm a little concerned about how this is going to turn out! Our SR went to school to fix vehicles so we are missing him just a little bit more right about now.

Aw -sorry Lala! I know how you feel, we put a new (used) tranny in DH's truck last week, and now my brakes are out. Well, the Good Lord must really like to keep our lives interesting, that's all I have to say! When we need Him, we draw closer to Him, and that's a good thing, so we try to just be thankful for what we have, that a side-job was around the corner to pay for the tranny, and that he's handy and can do the brakes at home instead of $65 an hour for labor! Glass half full, just like your 'memorable' vacation! Sorry your luck is down this week! But sure glad to hear from you, and we keep in being grateful for you and all you do!

Good Morning everyone, Happy Friday!!!! I went to the craft stores yesterday to get more stars and letters for the ribbons and my radiator went out on my '07 Chevy, had to be towed in for repair. :( Last month a new rear end on our Ram 1500, 9 days in the shop doesn't make for a great FL vacation but it def makes it memorable!!!!! I hope everyone has a great weekend and gets a special phone call :-}

Karen: thanks for the heads up on that forum....just the laugh I needed. On the very first form letter my son used one line to tell me "this is all the space I have to write".LOL .

Vicki - sorry to hear all that your son is going through! Military life is not easy, that's for sure. Hopefully he'll get over regretting his sign-up and move on with things. It's definitely like a brick wall hitting them smack in the face - total change of pace from what they're used to, and there is little to no lee-way when it comes to enforcing consequences. He'll adapt and come out better for it!
I think you would have heard if he was booted or coming home, so I wouldn't worry about that! Prayers for you today m'dear! And tell that mailman of yours we all love him!

Can anyone tell me if my son who is sixteen, going to PIR with us - no driver's lisence, but he does have a picture public school ID, will that do for a government ID - or does he need one from the DMV? I have sooo many questions about A-school, I've looked on line and read a lot, understand it starts with a lot of restrictions, then gets lighter, but what about our kids 'things' or clothes that they can wear or use on leave- when or how are they able to get them? Thanks again for all your help and understanding ladies - God bless you!

Our countdown clock will be rolling to 20 days here very shortly! Three weeks from this very moment, we will all be sitting together waiting to catch a glimpse of our sailors.
