All the divisions seem to be having their share of problems, I hope they can all work it out. I had no idea they could lose their urinals as punishment, so what are they making them do hold it?

My MIL was a really great woman, but she had her moments. When she got into a moment, lol, I just had to learn not to let her get to me. sometimes it's hard for a mom to let her son go. Daughters seem to stay close but sons move on. I just hope that when the time comes I don't treat my in-law kids bad. I will rememeber WOMAN HITLER and try not to be her! lol

recieved 2 letters yesterday. doesnt sound like this division is getting it together. they lost thier urinals as punishment, then when that didnt work they took the stalls away. come on guys I just paid a fortune on air fare based on a 10/8 pir

My son got all the boot camp stories as well, lol. He showed his dad a youtube video of boot camp and said, "wow, that looks hard" lol. My husband, who went through army basic in the early 80's, rented Full Metal Jacket for our son to watch and said "now THAT is what real boot camp is all about. You will be going to summer camp compared to what I went through"

Good morning ladies! Less than 26 days to go, woo-hoo!!!

khoov00, LOL at the men and their boot camp stories, compared to women and their child birth stories, ain't it the truth????!!!

My SR said going in that he knew it was going to be a big part 'mental'; I think that's helping him now; unfortunately the "mind games"/mental part won't end for him in A school but we'll handle that when he gets there; one day at at time!!!

mommyto4boyz - I will be sure to ask him if he knows who is in charge of watch, I'm sure he does, said he's been doing a lot of it!
Lilly - Yes less than 4 weeks!!! I can't wait! Even my husband is counting the days!
Navywife - I know isn't that awesome!!! That's a whole extra day we get to spend with our husbands!!!!

Jamielyn you were right; he was on watch the other day and that's why he didn't get to call you.....What a blessing! I got 2 more letters from him yesterday....I think they are holding the SR letters they write to us during the week and mail them all on Mondays bec the 2 I received; 1 he wrote on Tuesday 8/31 and the other one was last Sunday 9/5???
Comment by Lilly(JG Corpsman) on September 11, 2010 at 10:58pm
Jamielyn I'm SO HAPPY that you got a phone call today....Let's keep the faith going and continue to pray for ALL the SR's on this PIR! OMG, less than 4 weeks left :)
Comment by jamielyn on September 11, 2010 at 10:39pm
Thanks everyone! I am still floating on my own little cloud from his phone call earlier :)
Let me just say the phones there are terrible!! There were times I couldn't even here him because the crackling was so bad! Given those phones get quite a bit of use haha
Overall he sounded ok, just exhausted. He is still sick - said a lot of them are, is on LLD right now which he hates, wants to go back to full duty. He said guys in their div still can't seem to learn how to stop talking, so they get in a lot more trouble than they should - and are not doing well with teamwork. He did confirm they get an extra day of Liberty the Monday of PIR weekend because of Columbus Day!!!
He is just ready for boot camp to be over. He said he did miss the phone calls because he was on watch, was really upset when he found out he missed them - but they let him make it up today :) Trying to keep him in good spirits, told him not to worry about me.
I found a funny card today that I'm going to send him - it has a wet cat sitting in a sink of water and bubbles, ears down not looking happy, on the inside it says "See, someone else knows how you feel. Hang in there!" it made me crack up when I saw it, hopefully it will put a smile on his face!

I know exactly what you mean. I never even watch tv, but when my husband is gone for a day or more I park in front of the tv and watch all the stuff I never get to when he's here.
