Morning everyone. Love the idea to just send extra letters. I have been asking my SR to give me names of anyone that isn't receiving mail, but rather than waiting for that, I am going to just send some extras. Although there are now over 100 of us on this main 10/8 PIR site, there are only about 10-12 in my specific Division discussion group. I would never have written so many letters if I didn't know how much they need our letters for encouragement, so I am afraid there are many in my SR's group that are getting very few or no letters. Keep the ideas coming ladies!!!

Oh - sorry, didn't read all the posts - cameowlot - that was awesome! I think I'm going to do the same w/ the next letter I send. Thanks for the idea (where is MY brain lately?) LOL

Vicki - Yes!! Let's all pitch in! If we can find out of anyone who is not getting mail and find a way to send them some - we really should! What a pleasant suprise it would be for them! Can you imagine? Going it all alone? Poor guys - that is really crappy! I think it would be awesome to brighten thier days if we can!

I would gladly send extra mail. My heart just breaks for those kids, even though they probably aren't expecting anything. Even if their name only gets called once or twice, it would have to be a boost for them.

my previous post mentioned I got navy hallmark cards. I saw in another group that would bring unwanted attention to him. well I thought it was a good idea oh well

Good morning! Glad to hear so many have gotten letters but if you haven't hang in there, there's always this week! Our 'letter day' appears to be Thursdays.

Spent yesterday kayaking with hubby and sister, oy, now today to recover from kayaking. :-) (To dispel visions of me whitewater kayaking, let me say it's a small stream with ripples for rapids, although the rocky bottom did challenge us at times, hubby took a dip twice when he got caught up on some rocks and tried to get out, LOL, dang where's my camera when I need it? That picture would have made my recruits day!LOL)

Jana, LOL at the 'groovin', I sing along to any song and embarrass my kids. :-) Unfortunately I know the words to those form the 70s....

Navywife 621, how is your puppy doing? Has he recovered from being bullied yet?

NavyMomLG, glad you got your letters!

Vicki, I used to sing 'you are my sunshine' to PK, too! After we read "Goodnight Moon" for the ten thousandth time...

after reading everyones comments it seems that most the sr's were homesick the first week(too much down time) and most agree the food is good. but most of all they really want mail. hallmark had some really good navy/military cards. I thought I would throw them in between letters.

hi chris m. i got my phone call thursday at 3:50. we also talked for about 30 minutes. he said they threaten to not let them make phone calls. but he said we are all here. I could hear them yelling at other divisions that their time was up. I am sure he will call soon. probally like when you least expect it. like I did
