For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I knew we would get letters this week and we will also be getting phone calls perhaps towards the weekend..I haven't gotten his letter yet but I KNOW it's coming...I live in Florida so it takes a little longer for us to get mail in the SOUTH....LOL....

Comment by NavyMomLG on September 1, 2010 at 8:24pm: Nothing for me today either. I am hopeful for tomorrow. My husband is trying to keep me from being too disappointed by reminding me that our son rarely talked to us while he lived here, much less ever wrote a letter. Not that there were any problems, he is just very quiet and doesn't talk much in general. I am hoping that with everyone else writing, he will actually send me at least one letter! I don't think I have seen anyone else in Div 338 receive a letter today, so I am thinking theirs just didn't go out at the same time. Hope it wasn't a punishment. Staying Navy Mom Strong!!!

Comment by OhioNavyMama on September 1, 2010 at 7:54pm: edit* - Div 331 and Div 332 are together. Katlyn said they are both co-ed Div's and so they train and sleep together, so sounds as if that is affecting Div 331 as well as our's. So lets keep both Div's in our prayers!

Also praying that everyone else gets their letters and calls this week!!!

She said that alot of the younger girls are really big into drama and its making it tough for them to come together. I guess their letters were held yesterday. Also hearing that they are telling them that they all might be G&G...although that might be to put a little scare in them to get them in gear. Other than that Katlyn said she really likes it and she told me a funny story about Adams gf (she is in our div with our daughters)...Adam asked her if she knew katlyn and katlyn said she heard jessica running up the ship yelling "are you katlyn are you katlyn" lol and told her that her bf is talking to her mom on N4Ms. She was cracking up about that...so spirits were high and was glad to hear her laughing after the initial cry. And yes please pray for Div 332...they need to come together quickly!!

Comment by MaribethP on September 1, 2010 at 7:48pm: mommyto4Boyz ~ keep on praying and thinking good thoughts. I strongly believe it is not because he doesn't want to call or write. My son did say that they held mail and then something like mail was supposed to go out on Sunday but never went until Monday. This is hard because even though we have the same PIR date we have to keep in mind that each div/ship is at their own pace. So I have really been trying to be patient. I get very anxious thinking I am going to miss something. But based on my son's letters today they all are looking to talk to someone from home! He will call!!! I am still waiting for a call and praying it will be tomorrow!!!

Comment by kellig on September 1, 2010 at 7:24pm: Vicki, my son said pretty much the same thing. He said he's doing ok in the IT, better than some of the younger ones. I only got one letter from 08/22 but it was actually more than I expected. Got my questions ready if he really does get to call tomorrow! I guess I won't be surprised if if one doesn't come either. My prayers are now that they can come together as a group.
