Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Also on the facebook RTC page-Today's "Picture of the Week" is of divisions 305 and 306 taking their Physical Fitness Assessments.

I can only check this site periodically so by the time I read everything to catch up I don't have much time to post... I'm so excited for everyone getting the letters and phone calls. Comment by Honnalora on September 1, 2010 at 12:24pm: Okay, I was so excited to tell you all the great news of the letters, that I am stopped on the side of the road with my laptop and my internet card. I just couldn't wait to tell you all! First letter was dated August 16th, he was still in p-days and second letter was August 29th. He is excited, doing well, and has his eyes on October!

My recruit sounds really good. He said sleeping is difficult, because it's noisy. They got their first round of mail and they are all loving the cards and letters and to keep them coming. He said he already has some great friends that are encouraging each other and really pushing through together. He is in the 947 division and they will be carrying the state flags. My son is carrying the sword called the cutlass.

He said food is better than expected and he is studying hard. He did pass his swim test (he was worried when he left - he is a bodybuilder and sinks like a rock due to all the muscle.) He loves it, but can't wait to see us. Oh - and that he LOVES us! That is just what I needed to hear.

He is doing well, and I can stop holding my breath and breathe again! Check the mailboxes - he said everyone seems to be glad to write home!
