Hi, all,
Just got my first letter returned to me, insufficient postage DANG!!! I put extra stamps on but not enough (there were extra envelopes/paper inside). Ma Navy wouldn't pay the 17 cents, LOL (not that I expected her to). Just hope my recruit got at least one of my other letters this past Sunday! (if not the first one).

mommyto4boyz, and other new Oct 8 PIRs, welcome!

NavyMomLG - He left on 8/12. Gram said the letter was dated 8/22 and he said in the form letter I got last Thursday that he has been writing but they weren't allow to mail them yet.

I just booked the Residence Inn last night - everyone seems to like it.

cameowlot- I too plan to burn that blue candle and keep a vigil that night. I think it a wonderful way to show our support and dedication to them. Haven't decided yet what I will do during that time frame ( beside have serious conversation with the man upstairs) I was thinking I should maybe do some intense fall cleaning. After all, my son will be working very hard during that time, its only fair that I do it too to honor him.

Wanderlust, when did your SR leave? I'm so excited that someone has received a letter already. I'm not expecting anything for a week or so.

proud - I will let you know if I am able to get a room!

Wanderlust-thanks for the update about the letter. I'm in Florida, so gives me hope for tomorrow! I'm sorry to hear that he is sick :(, I heard that this is pretty common in all this, but my prayers that he has a speedy recovery!

HI NavyMomGL. I have booked the Residence Inn Waukegan and am very excited about it. Let me know if you book there as well so we can find each other.

Hi ladies, I am trying to keep up with all of you, but now that I am in week 2 I am trying not to look at the website every 15 minutes of the day!! I have a full time job and three other kids, and I was catching a little grief.

I am having the hardest time making up my mind about a hotel, but I think I am going to try the Residence Inn, is anyone else staying there?

With regard to Battlestations, is that done one division at a time or do they combine divisions? Just wondering if one of you gets your date before I do, if I will also know my date.

My cell phone rang early this morning while I was getting ready for work, and I accidentally chewed out my 11 year old for not answering it in time. It was just a coworker, but I said it was a test and it could have been our SR and we CAN NOT miss that call!! I'm thinking I will need to attach that phone to my body pretty soon LOL! Daughter wasn't offended, she is used to my craziness by now :)

Thanks for sharing! I hope he is better soon!!! Looking for that mailman now!! If not, maybe he will bring something tpmorrow!!!

I just got off the phone with my husband’s grandmother and she just received a letter from him! Mail travel time I guess – she’s in Michigan and I’m in Texas. Nothing in the mail today, hoping for tomorrow. He said he was sick with a bad cold – started as a sore throat and now is in his chest. My husband never gets sick! I was really shocked to hear that but he got meds to help clear it up. Says a lot of the guys have all caught it as well. On a happier note - it seems mail is finally out so you all should get letters soon!
