Ladies~

Grab your tissues and get ready for an amazing video. I must warn you that you will probably be affected by this video for life. May you find the inspiration in this. After all, we were blessed with our children to love them, guide them, and to one day give them that "push" into life. God Bless!

PS: If the video seems to not be centered, click on the video screen again and it will direct you to Utube where you can watch it full screen!

So glad I found this group, my son is Ship 10 div 331. Got the form letter a couple days ago and was SO surprised to get a phone call on Friday! He needed some more info for his references for background check so he got a call home. So hoping to make it back for graduation, but not sure yet.

Welcome SoulStar! I know what you mean about re-reading that little note at the bottom, my son left two weeks ago and I keep reading it and get a smile each time I do!

Rae Rae, the only Navy bootcamp is in GL, then when they go to "A" school, some stay there, and others go all over depending on their jobs. Hope you get the 'letter' tomorrow!

OhioNavyMa, hope you are feeling a little better, I think it gets a little better each week but I know what you mean, can't wait to get a real letter! Or a phone call!

proudtobehismom - wow, those plane tickets are cheap compared to what I've been pricing; of course I'm pricing from our closest airport (Harrisburg PA) but if I drive to Baltimore, it's not much cheaper. Funny how it's cheaper to fly from Florida to GL than Pennsylvania to GL. I'm going to check out airfares now. Priceline first, then Orbitz, then the different airlines' sites. Guess I'll bite the bullet today too!

I hope you are hanging in there SoulStar. I too am waiting for a real letter. I cannot imagine having my husband away for so long. It is hard enough with my son.

Hello everyone, I just decided to join this group today. My husband is graduating October 8th and he is in Ship 10 Div 336. He left on August 16 from Houston, TX. I got the box on the 18th and the information letter on Saturday, the 21st.

I was SO happy to see his handwriting and that little small note at the bottom of the letter meant the world to me. I will keep reading it until I get another letter from him.

PK'SMom- I know what you mean about the jinxing, But I bit the bullet and booked. Flying out of Daytona Beach, FL to Milwaukee, WI was 198.00 RT. I went with Milwaukee simply because I hear the traffic in Ohare is nightmarish. O Hare was was very close in price. If I have to change it will cost 150.00 per ticket. But I have been watching airfares and they were rising about 20 every couple days. A refundable was going to cost me 800, so even if I had to make change I'm still better off. Hope this helps!

Congrats on those getting letters! Now I'm waiting for a REAL letter, hoping to get one this week or next. Monday will be two weeks for us.

A question - have you all made your transportation arrangements already? I am so nervous about jinxing things if I reserve airfare; on the other hand, if I wait much longer I'm going to pay through the nose...
