Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

So far since yesterday I have made split pea soup/ham chowder (my hubby thinks he doesn't like split pea soup), three roasts worth of beef jerky, 1 lb of turkey pastrami jerky, nut/granola bars, chili, fruit smoothies, ham & potatoes, another batch of jerky is marinating & I'm about to make some cabbage soup, yogurt and fruit rollups.Of course a bunch of that is being sent to FIL to take to my son at PIR and I took my other son a bunch of what's already done this morning.

Trying to keep up on the posts from my droid. We will have divisions going through battlestations on mon, tues, and wednes. I will update our main page with details tomorrow. I will run to the office.

So glad so many are getting calls. Great to get to hear their voices. We are just days away from meet and greet, can't wait to meet everyone! Then its PIR!!

Comment by Proud Ship7 div107 NavyMom on October 2, 2010 at 7:09pm: Congratulations to those with SR's in divisions 822 & 947 on winning the Captains Cup!! Since we really DON'T know when BS21 is. I am lighting my candle every day at 6:00 PM here (8PM there) for every division. In hopes that in case I am not able to do it when my SR's Division is on. someone will keep a candle lit and say a prayer for my son's Division. Thank you all!!

My husband said that the best thing to come out of our son going to bc is that I am so much easier to get ahold of now. I used to lose or forget my phone all the time but for the past several weeks it has been glued to my side.

Spending the day with my daughter at her college during parents weekend and was just trouble shooting her printer so i thought I'd check up. Hope he calls soon, not while I'm driving home! LOL. Maybe I can just stay here tonight. :-)

They where at the NEX, he said he had a choice of either using the restroom are making a phone call and he called instead of going pee. Guess he will be dancing a while longer :))
