Cameowlot-I am sorry about your Dad. It is never easy. I will keep you all in my prayers. I wish I would have known when my Dad got sick from cancer and given the opportunity to spend more time with him.Luckily my kids spend the summer in Denmark before he died and got a chance to get to now their "Bedstefar" But sometimes that's how it is when you are far away from family

Judy-prayers for you and your son! I'm glad you finally heard from him but sorry for his status being so up in the air. I pray that he can do PIR with his division!

Got a call from my son today, and I feel worse than ever. He has been sick with pneumonia for a week and has not done his final pfa, or battle stations. He goes with 339 on Wednesday night, so I won't even know if he passed until I am halfway to Chicago. Plus I don't even know if he will be able to pass his PFA because he has been so sick

Cameowlot- I will keep your family in my prayers as well. Cancer is so hard on families. When my daughter joined the Navy her Papa (my dad) had just finished radiation treatments for prostate cancer. A week before PIR he said, "how bout I come along with you and surprise my gradbaby?" I was so happy he wanted to go and even more so that he felt like going. He is also diabetic and my mom has COPD, Parkinsons and is on oxygen 24/7. So dad normally will not leave her side. My fiancee had planned on going with me to PIR but he stayed home to help take care of my mom so my Dad could go. I have some really great men in my life and I appreciate them so much. Needless to say my daughter was very happy to have her Papa there. My dad is still in remission thanks to God and some great doctors. My parent's are only in their 60's and that is scary for me as I approach closer and closer to 50. I know many of you may smoke and for some people it doesn't affect them but for my family it is detrimental to their health and I thanks God everyday that I never picked one up. btw that is my dad with my sailor and me in my profile pic. :-) Good luck to your dad and your whole family. I will keep him in my prayers daily.

For anyone not on the RTC Facebook page they posted this link to a video about BS21: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jibm7kyIGcM
I think it's funny that the sr's have to sign a contract saying they won't talk about the exercises but the press is allowed to video the exercises. It is a short video though so maybe they told them they could only include a certain part of the training exercise or something. Anyway, it made me feel like I'm at least a little more connected to my sr after seeing the video. If our division is really set to go Thursday night they are going to be super tired after PIR. Poor guys.

Captain's Cup - A field day, during which the divisions compete against each other. It is usually held the Saturday before graduation.

Cameowlot I'm so sorry! I'll keep your dad in my prayers. If it helps my dad moved here from Texas about 2 1/2 years ago because he had already had 7 heart attacks (he's 61) and figured he didn't have much time so he wanted to be close to his daughter (me) and grandkids. Since moving back here he hasn't even had one more heart attack and is going strong, even though he has limitations. It may seem hopeless right now but it will all work out the way God wants it to in the end. Try to keep the worry out of your mind and enjoy the precious time you have with your sr. Also, know you have lots of support here.
