Yes, right on board regarding the RDC's! It is hard sometimes to think of our loved ones, be they spouses or children or siblings, parents or friends going through the tough times during BC - but (and it's a big but) the UNITED STATES MILITARY is not made up of wimps and sissy's - they are trained professionals - TRAINED to be the best. Not because thier hands were held and they followed, because they've been taught how to follow and how to LEAD when they need to. They are being trained to be Sailors and soldiers - and thank God they are - we have the strongest military in the world for a reason. As a momma it's hard to try and understand what my son is going through, however as a very proud United States citizen, I am proud of his courage and honor, and Grateful to the RDC's for thier sacrifices and thier determination to mold my son into a young Sailor willing and able to Serve his country.
So there - there's my military momma soapbox! :-)

Harmony...No truer words have ever been written, I am also amazed at the transformation of the SRs. My son will be 20 on the 1st of November and has matured in leaps and bounds since arriving at BC. The thanks go directly to the RDCs and their work and leadership. Although it is hard for me because my only baby is truly growing up...One of my favorite lines is " I pray that God will fill your heart with dreams and faith give you the courage to dare to do great things" I believe all of our SRs are on that very path. To God be the Glory....we are truly blessed to have people who are directing their paths.

Harmony, that is great. I know most of the sr's have great respect for their RDC's. The last time he called my sr told me they are the hardest working guys. He said they work like 17 or 18 hours a day and never seem to stop. He said they are really good people. I was actually surprised to hear that they sometimes read this site because it sounds like they are always with their division & barely have time to sleep.

Ship10mom - Our sr's will go the same night since mine is in 339. It's too bad they have to go so close to PIR but if that's the way they schedule it I'm sure there must be a reason.
