Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am so excited about getting down to these last days. Can anyone tell me if we mail out letters this week will they still get them before they leave Great Lakes? I have a letter from someone who sent it to me to send to him and I want to make sure he gets it before graduation......should I hold on to it and give it to him personally???? Any ideas??

Adamsdad - I am glad to hear that you have such a heart, prior Marine or not you are human! My husband does not show emotion easily, so that fact that you shared, thank you. I think you understand the grief us mothers/wives/girlfriends have been experiencing. It is so amazingly hard. I don't tear up as often, but still once a day. A song, her name, a story, or even seeing her car outside, it wells me up in tears. Thanks again for being a man!

I think most of us are doing this on a budget. I was lucky enough to get 3 rt tickets from White Plains NY to Milwaukee for $138 each. Also my rental car for 5 days is $90.00.( I belong to the Navy Federal Credit Union now, so I saved $40.00 on the car through ALAMO)

I am glad to hear that I am not the only on e who will be traveling on a tight budget. the plane fair was outragious. I figured philly to chicago how bad could it be. I went to vegas for less. glad to hear it is a super walmart.

Ship10Mom..would love to help on the crock-pot recipes...but my SR probably thinks BC food is better than moms....I hate to admit that but it is the cold honest truth!,,,

No need to be ashamed AdamsDad - we all deal in our own time in our own way! I am fortunate to be having a really good (ok w/ this) day, as I heard from my SR yesterday FINALLY and it eased a lot of my tension!!! I know the concensus here has been that we're all more anxious now the closer it gets. Also I think the realization that after BC, they're really going to be gone is hitting us, and that one carries a lot of weight! Maybe if you do what most of us ladies do, and just let it all out for a bit, you'll feel better? Hope your day improves!
